I had gone to several other stores first (because I happened to have been close to them at the time), looking for something like this, and I was unable to find anything that would do the job. At Best Buy I found this item very quickly and was able to connect my son's TV to his gaming chair for sound. Had the product for some time now and it is still working flawlessly.

Have a expensive surround sound system I purchased a year ago not realizing it had no optical connection port until I recently bought a new TV that had no component connection only optical and Bluetooth anyway got this and was able to connect it to the TV and sounds great

I have an IR-wireless headphone that only has RCA audio-in jacks. I purchased this device to connect the TV to the optical digital audio-in jack on the device and output to audio to my headphone's dock via the RCA audio-out jacks. It was very easy to setup, works great, has good sound quality, and a small footprint.

I have an older amplifier and a new TV. Along with a digital audio cable this converter put the TV's audio into the amplifier and I got very high quality (and loud) sound. I highly recommend this for anyone who has this scenario.

Couldn't figure out why I was getting no sound and did The Googling. Turns out the new TV has digital audio out and my older receiver wouldn't convert that and you need this thingamabob. Hooked it up and voila. Easy to hook up, good instructions, reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

This allowed me to use my older Sony wireless headphones using the optical output port. It is also much cheaper than new Bluetooth headphones which the tv couldn’t connect with.
