The Insignia converters output was at least 6db lower than the Altona. This unit will not drive a headphone amp properly. You will need a lot of gain when using with a receiver. When you raise the volume you can hear the noise of the unit in the mix.

These items aren’t meant for longevity. I’m using it for my Bose radio/CD player to connect to my Samsung TV to get better sound quality rather than the built in TV speakers.
