I have a tv that has an digital optical hookup to allow the use of headphones. Before Bluetooth was standard this unique and quickly outdated connection was used on certain devices like TVs. This little converter must be used with a digital optical cable. These simple resolutions puts my Sony wireless headphones back into service and not just a waste of good money. All installation instructions and troubleshooting can be found on you tube. The actually installation took about 5 minutes. It did however cost more than I would have thought it should. For both necessary item it cost approximately $60. That I would say is a pretty big con to swallow... but.. it is a necessary evil.

Had been looking for a way to convert the Digital Audio out ( spdif ) from my Xbox One to Analog audio. I needed to go into an existing audio system already in place and could only find full blown receivers with (spdif-tos link) inputs. This was by far the cheapest and easiest.

The items works so well. The sound i get from my home theatre is perfect because of this itm. It's portable and seems it will work for a long time. I 100% recommend it. Thanks bestbuy for this quality sound item.

Needed a way to connect a tv to an older functional home theater system. This allowed me to do that without having to replace the home theater. Would recommend for those looking to upgrade without spending a lot of money.

I have analog bookshelf speakers and this works great for watching TV. Only thing I wish is that it had volume control functionality so I could sync the speakers with my TV better

Works like a charm with my Samsung 4K tv, which only has an optical output for my old Lafayette amplifier in the living room. Be sure to also buy an optical cable.

I needed the converter to hook my computer speakers to my TV. This was needed because I didn't have a component(head phone) out on the back of my TV. Using the optical out on the back of the TV with the converter was the answer.

I was switching an old model Bose Cinemate to a Sony Bravia LED tv and the Cinemate only had the red/white audio cables, so I needed something to convert to optical. This was reasonably priced and has worked for what I needed so far.

This adapter was perfect for my old coaxil only input of a speaker system for my small tv. The speakers work great other wise and sound amazing and I wasn't wanting to purchase a new system for these new tvs that mostly just come with optical outputs. This works seamlessly.
