You will also need an optical cord. Don't forget to slide the little switch to "optical." This adapter and the optical cord were expensive, about $50 total but I was so thrilled to get my cordless headphones to work, I would have paid anything.

Seems like a pretty bad device design that you can't tell if it's this device or its power adaptor because the accompanying power adaptor doesn't have a light to tell you if it is working. Which part was broken? Who knows? But the pair together would not turn "on" so got returned.
