Loose Optical port and always on

The optical cable would not stay plugged in, we tried two different cables and neither would stay connected. The other issue is that since this plugs into the wall it is always on. It would not let the headset power down even though there was no sound input. We went with a USB one that plugged into the TV and would power down when the TV was switched off allowing the headset to enter sleep mode. The only reason for two starts instead of one is that it did convert the optical to analog well with great sound quality.

There was nothing apparent on the packaging that would have informed us of the missing cable, discovered this at home after purchase. Required a 2nd trip to Best Buy and another purchase. Thank goodness a knowledgeable person at Best Buy directed us to the correct needed cable.
