Great product easy to connect straight to the point plug and play I have no issues with this item much easier than I thought it would be to connect .

Love this product because it allowed me to hook new 65” Samsung tv to my older Onkyo surround sound system. It was easy to hook up and gives me great sound.

We needed this adapter to hook up our older receiver - RCA to Digital - to our new tv. Of course, the new tv does not have any RCA inputs anymore! So, the geek squad installers told us what to buy. However, they did not really know how to properly hook it up to get sound from the receiver to the TV. We finally figured it out ourselves - had to change a setting on the TV speakers to optical, then it worked. Now we can continue to use our older, but still wonderful sound equipment - and not have to buy new.

We were delighted to be able to use this to hook up our Wii games. Great product.

The converter works well 98% of the time. The TV I purchased only had a digital optical output so I bought this to output the sound to my very old surround sound system. The converter requires power so make sure you have an open outlet. The quality is good, no noticeable drop in quality. My only complaint is twice now the converter has stopped working and needed to be power cycled to function again. In the almost 2 months of having it, it has only happened twice and the fix is simply unplugging it and plugging it back in. Overall I like the converter and have no major complaints.

Replaced an older converter for a sound bar that never worked as expected. This Insignia optical/digital to analog converter plugged right in and we now have steady quality sound. Very pleased.

Insignia converter was great for converting my new Samsung Tv’s optical sound to analog to correspond with my surround unit. Very easy to use.

Recently got a steal with a half-priced Bose stereo. The only problem was, the stereo was designed for audio/mp3 playback, and not TVs. After doing some research I came upon a suggestion to convert optical digital output from my tv into this type of converter, and then convert the RCA inputs into one single 3.5mm plug. After a little fine-tuning with my TV's audio settings I was able to have this bad boy up and running. Even with the multiple conversions taking place, the sound is crystal clear and booms throughout the room. The converter provided the fix I needed while only sacrificing very little of the original sound quality. A++++++++

It provides a clean audio signal without introducing noise to my audio system. I have used it for about 6 years. I have yet to have an issue with it. The price at the the time was a bit on the high-ish side but for the quality it has provided me through the years, it was worth it.

Device is perfect to add older speakers to the new TV cluster.

Allowed me to hook my older surrounding sound system to the new all in one connection on the new UHD tv. That saved me from buying a new sound bar.

Realized I didn't need it, due to a gaming headset not working properly. I had to send back the headset to the Ebay seller, then the Insignia back to best buy. I would've loved to use it. If I ever need it again which I probably will, I will be buying the same model and going through best buy again. I would recommend it to anyone. Researching all the other models and brands, this one was the best bang for your buck and one with a reliable quality brand.

I bought this item so I can connect the tv to my evolve 50 speaker. The tv only had and optical out and the evolve 50 did not have an optical in. I can now use my evolve 50 as a sound bar for my oled tv. Note: You have to change the tv audio output settings to linear pcm in order for it to work. Also this device will amplify the sound signature coming out of the tv. The bottom line is it works great and I haven’t had an issue.

A great basic optical digital to analog converter. Works well with no issues. Bought it as an open box for an even better value.

I bought Best Buy’s own Insignia Optical/Coaxial Digital-to-Analog Converter to connect my stunning new Sony X85J 43-inch TV also purchased at Best Buy. I chose that model since it has a much more powerful speaker system built in than the Sony X80J model. The converter was recommended by one of the Best Buy sales persons, and he was right: it works perfectly with my analog component system through which I’m running the audio. And it’s very reasonably priced.
