Allowed connection of old receiver to new TV

The receiver does not have optical and this did the trick. It does require an outlet, but the receiver has a couple on the back, so it worked out great.

Works as Advertised

You need to also purchase an optical audio cable and the RCA jacks. I also have my bluetooth receiver running through it as well so I can jam the tunes from my phone.

I would have given it a 5 star but it did not included the optical cord, I feel it should have.

Converting Digital/Optical to RCA

I was expecting it to fail as well and it did until I actually read the instructions. Once I changed the TV output from bitstream to PCM, it worked flawlessly. Saved me from having to buy a new receiver!

Optical input (open package)

Hooked it up and my old receiver has new life to it. Make sure you change your sound settings to get the audio to work.
