I received a TV from a family member that had particular connections and I had a DVD and soundbar but couldn't connect them all. This saved me from having to buy a new DVD player or new soundbar.

Good for those TV who don't have optical plug, pretty pricey but worth it. Convert the optical cord into the Audio cables that'll connect to your tv.

It works! What else can I say. Allows me the ability to connect sound output (digital) to my old analog Bose speaker system. One less item I need to discard due to obsolescence.

Yes, the newer receivers have digital codecs that the 4K blu rays offer to which you would want to use hdmi. But sometimes, you just want to hook up your old school sound system and this is how you do it. Works exactly as designed.

Seems to be working as it should except my TV is so old that it does not have the selector of audio channels that are used. There is a warning on the product about this so make sure that you TV can be switched to the correct audio mode before buying.

Bought a new Samsung tv that did not come with a 3.5mm (headphone) jack. I have an older Yamaha sound system. So I bought this converter to connect the new tv's optical audio out to my stereo and it works great.

The device works fine, but the digital optical output on the TV is at a fixed level and does not track the volume settings on the TV for the on board audio. This is a wasted purchase.

Simply, a device that does what I need it to do. However it is the second one purchased. Optical connection broke on the previous one.

Worked live a charm. I needed it for an older TV. Easy install. Best Buy recommend it to me, and I am so glad they did. A cheaper way for a quick solution. To avoid having to buy a newer TV in a spare room.

I needed a converter for my Bose system since a new TV that I purchased didn't have any components to attach to the RCA Jacks. This did the trick at a very reasonable price. I thought I was not going to be able to use the Bose.

Converts optical audio output from TV to an analog wireless TV assisted listening headset. Even when the TV volume is set to "mute", you still get full volume digital quality audio to the headset which has an amplifier and volume control of its' own.

So i connected this with my optical cable and into my tv and speaker, at first i thought it didn't work because all i heard was a nasty noise but you have to change your tv sound settings to optical and then to a specific mode, i forgot what its called.

At this day and age most televisions and projectors use HDMI. In my case the hdmi port to a hanging projector did not work. The solution was using a vga to hdmi converter and this accessory in other to get audio.
