    This device did not work. I spent several hours attempting to get this "simple plug and play" device to work and it never did. All my settings on the TV, receiver and this device were correct....researched online...called tech support....nothing. Only giving it 3 stars because Besy Buy is great and I returned it for full refund with no issues.

    this device has worked perfectly since installed over 2 weeks ago. used for my old fischer stereo system from 1997. hooked to my dynex tv purchased 2years ago and it works great.

    Let me use the digital audio output of a Blu Ray player and use the RCA plug input on my Bose amplifier. I had already maxed out the amplifier digital inputs. Works just fine.

    I need on occasion to take the optical digital audio out from a UHD TV and send it to an amp with analog line inputs. The Insignia converter worked exactly as described.

    If you have older equipment and you're trying to convert coaxial analog input into newer optical audio, then this will do the job. There is a loss of quality but that's expected.
