However the replacement unit has been going strong for months. Does what it says it will. I use it with my 3rd gen Apple TV to convert the digital audio out to an analog signal to send to the 2nd room pre-amp inputs on my receiver. Only complaint is the optical port has a loose connection. Tried a few different cables and all were not as snug a fit as I'd like.
