The rechargeable battery works exactly as expected. The long charging cable is especially welcome, too. A full charge doesn't last nearly as long as 2 AA's but with the convenience of recharging it's more than enough. I like getting the little vibration from the controller when I plug in to charge. I wonder why I didn't buy this sooner!

It will pay for itself in a year or so with reduced battery replacement. If you do not get the elite controller then add this to your xbox accessories.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Accidentally purchased this for my partner's 3rd generation Xbox wireless controller (manufactured between 2016-2020) she uses with her PC because I didn't realize what Xbox controller she had at the time. Turns out it works great and charges off the micro USB connection on the controller (just had to dig out a micro USB cable). Which is perfect - no need to replace a perfectly good controller, and no more running through AA batteries to use it wirelessly.
