However, when my sons use my Xbox, or someone else comes over and wants to play, this still works great.

New controllers are the c-style plug (uniform oval). My son uses this for pc gaming, I just swapped the cable and it has been perfect.

The cord is fairly long if you decide to play in your living room. Not sure how long I expect the battery to last after multiple charging cycles.

Battery and charging chord
