Ice machine broke twice after a week?

The ice maker does not stop making ice and causes the arm to push the ice into the bin to come off the track. It has occured twice on different machines. I believe the IR sensor that controls ice production must be defective or poor design? Sadly ill need to return this one too.

The sensor does not see there is ice blocking the drop. The tray will pull the ice behind the tray and over time the scoop part breaks off. Spend a little more for the one with out the automatic tray.

But then it just completely quit making ice. I think it’s telling itself that it’s full when it’s really empty. The warranty lasts for a year so for my situation it sticks but it was great while it lasted.

Ice machine LEAKS

I have no idea how long is was leaking but my laminated floor is warped. I have it sitting in a foil pan now and it acclimated 3 inches of water in a day or two. Of course, the return time frame is expired.

Doesn't take up a ton of space in the kitchen. For the price and size, I can sacrifice pellet ice for the small bullet shapes. As described in other reviews, it is noisy. Since I only need to use it a couple of days a week, the noise isnt a dealbreaker.

Pros: It makes good ice and it does it pretty quick! Its fairly quiet for this type of a machine and fits on the countertop. Cons: It uses a ton of energy I feel like I can feel my electric bill going higher whenever it turns on - It does not cool the interior of the ice maker so the only cooling mechanism is the one making the ice cubes, once they leave the tray and enter the resevoir they begin to melt immediately, so if you leave them in there for more than 20 minutes they just melt back into the water supply and it just keeps remaking ice from the same water and melting it and remaking it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and will quite literally never stop doing it until you unplug it so do NOT leave this on when you leave the house or go to sleep, your electric bill will be like $500 dollars.
