GREAT to have for daily use with the family, but especially when hosting parties!! We made our own hook and attached it for the ice scoop and it's perfection :) HIGHLY recommend!!

This works to make ice in a pinch to add to water. This icemaker does make ice w/in 6 minutes. However, the ice it makes are very soft ice that melts quickly when submerged in liquid. It's fine to add to water but adding to anything else as is will dilute the liquid. We put the ice in the freezer to solidify them up and they last longer. One caveat is buy the extended warranty for this. It's made of mostly plastic and looks like it can break easily. The first one I got worked great for a few days and then started to short out all my circuits. The second one is working great so far with no issues.

I haven't made exact measurements on how much it will produce in 24 hours, but it does start producing ice in 7 minutes. I have always used the large cube setting, which is still small enough to fit into the opening of a metal water bottle. This machine has been enormously helpful since our main refrigerator's compressor stopped working, and a replacement has been on back-order for months.
