AMAZING LITTLE MACHINE!

Could be Better

If you can get over the noise then its great to have but I recommend using it for like a home bar or basement away from any main living areas.

Good Ice Maker

She uses jugs of water to make the ice. The only real complaint is that the ice is still a little wet when it is made and transferred to the refrigerator freezer. You have to stir up the ice to keep it from clumping about 5 minutes after adding it to the freezer.

The ice is easy to chew which was the main thing I use was looking for. I use distilled or purified water to prevent buildup on the inside. I definitely recommend this ice maker if you are looking for ice that is easy to chew.

Better than Opal.

My Opal went out after two years so ordered another. Never would produce more than a 1/4 bucket every 24 hours. Constantly going into Defrost mode. Returned and got another one. SAME THING. After returning the second Opal, gave this Insignia a try. Works Wonderfully!! As mentioned produces the "good ice" like gangbusters!

It is so incredibly loud. Like you can hear it on another floor of the house over the tv. I’m actually returning the ice maker due to the noise.
