Customers are saying

Customers highly value the sound quality and bass produced by these powered computer speakers with subwoofer. Many appreciate the ease of use, the reasonable price, and the compact size. Positive comments also highlight the convenient volume control and headphone jack. While some users mentioned the power could be improved and the wire length to the subwoofer could be longer, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

    Good upgrade over stock speakers

These speakers are an adequate step-up from stock speakers. The big selling point to this set is the control module. The rotating volume knob is a breeze to use and lights up when the system is turned on. But what sets it apart is the auxiliary input for other devices and the secondary dial for adjusting the Bass volume, which is great! This speaker system has good volume and sound quality for the price. If you just want an upgrade from your standard speakers without spending a lot, I'd recommend this for you!

I bought this unit to boost the sound on my Lenovo laptop but honestly wasn't expecting too much. When I got it home, the set up was very easy. When I turned it on, the sound knocked me for a loop. The bass is incredible and I still can't turn the sound up past half way-it's SO loud. Great product for the money.

Overall these sound very good and great for the price. They are silver so look good with a Mac. I use them everyday and overall the sound is good. Good bass and good treble. They can get loud if needed. Very happy with these. They are not as good as my Klipsch Promedia 2.1, but a fifth of the price! Highly recommended!

The price point and quality of these speakers are excellent! Sub is just enough bass, but the speakers are great! They are much louder than I anticipated. Tbh, I haven't even turned them up much more than half way before I reach my limit (I'm 26 fyi). I wouldn't say it's a substitute for a home theater system, but it can certainly handle sound to a good extent for computer speakers.

These things get loud, sound great, and you really can't beat the price. The only thing I wish it would have had is an AUX RCA input on the subwoofer. Either way, this is a great set of speakers if you are looking to upgrade to a 2.1 system.

Normally i wear nothing but a headset but my fiance enjoys listening to youtube playlists and we needed a new set of speakers, i happened to get this with a 25 dollar reward certificate which made it an even better deal, the remote has a perfect sized lead on it which allows for placement on top of 2nd tier of desk between the two monitors, there is an aux input and a headset input eliminating the need to ever go under the desk for plugging a player or headsets in again, as well as a very smooth top (led lit) dial for volume and a perfectly placed bass dial which you can actually adjust at the same time as turning the volume up and down making it a one step process to get the perfect balance of sound and bass, rather than turning one up then trying to adjust the other to match. Over all very satisfied with the purchase, and impressed with my first experience with an insignia product.

The speakers sound great, so much better than the internal speakers in my laptop. Can adjust bass/treble levels to my liking. Only downside is dealing with the wires from the Subwoofer to both speakers. Was a great deal otherwise I might have bought the bluetooth version. I guess once it is set up with the wires run, it is OK.

Sound is good for low end desktop speaker system. Bass is solid, volume knob is convenient. For my games and some music streaming this is speaker system is ok, but it is not the best sound. For a simple low cost set up it fits the bill nicely.

My old set blew a speaker and then another. a day later I really didn't want to buy these but I needed speakers pronto! In stock BB had these and some 2.0 speakers. I expected to bring these back within a few days and then just order what I wanted. Well, pleasantly surprised with these speakers! No, they aren't incredible but they sound good at low, medium or high volumes. they're not crystal clear however for jamming out while cleaning or gaming for hours on end, they sound pretty darned good! I hear footsteps, the cat screaching in the distance, the wolves readying to attack me and roach.... (witcher 3, yeah...lol) The manufacturer I was going to purchase from also makes these, I was going to spend $10 more bucks and get the 3 speaker 'towers' and bigger sub. I am glad I didn't as these can get LOUD!!! I like the control pod!! I'd buy them again if they were black instead of silver... I glued a chunk of steel to the base of the speakers so they weren't so tippy. Only gripe would be the base...could be larger and/or weigh more.

I like a good deal, but I also want a quality product. I got both with these speakers. I originally bought a set for my computer. I was amazed at how good the sound was. The tweeters give good high range and the woofer added depth to create a very pleasing listening experience. They have more than enough volume too. I have since bought 4 more sets, one for my bedroom which runs from my smart phone (music and relaxing sounds effects to sleep by), and the rest for family members. The only small negative I could find was that power of the headphone output jack located on the volume control is a bit weak for my big headphones, but the devices I hook the speakers to also have a headphone jack so I wouldn't use the volume control headphone jack anyway. It does work, just can't drive a large set of headphones. A small set of headphones or earbuds probably work better. If you're going to hook your phone up to these make sure you get a 3.5 mm extension cord with a petite plug on the male side, if you use a case to protect your phone like I do then a heavy set plug will prevent a good connection. When I went by the store to get the last set I couldn't find them, obviously a popular item, but the girl working there went out of her way to check the inventory and locate a set hidden away on a top shelf.

I went in to Best Buy to buy a specific speaker system. Listening to the systems side by side in the store, I was more impressed with the Insignia. It's got a great sound for my needs. I was concerned about the stability of the speakers and whether I would like the volume control disk. I found the speakers to be very stable and I really like the volume control. The control is very smooth and can accept headphones or separate sound source. I like the versatility. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. I would give 5 stars if it had a little more bass. That would be my only knock, if any. But for my needs, its enough.

I looked at reviews before buying and they are right on. This cheaper money options is great for my desk. big enough sound to be loud when I want to and not distort. great stereo sound and bass. I like the ability to control the base separately. Easy setup and sounds great! Been looking for a while and really happy with this choice!

These are great for the price! I ended up putting the bass speaker sideways next to a wood dresser...(makes a greater bass), and the highs are very clear..and loud. The wires for tweeters/mids were a tad shorter than they could be, but hey, I can always buy some wire for a couple of bucks.

I bought these when it was on sale for 29.99 at best buy. Hooked it up and it was very easy, fast, and the sound is great for my workspace. I love the volume control knob and the fact that the speaker color matches my macbook pro. Solid subwoofer and sound input for an iPhone, ipad, or other such devices.

I got these open box at the local BestBuy out here on Oahu. They were only about $20, but I've only got a couple months left on the island, so I just needed SOMETHING to make noise, so I decided I'd try them out. Value: 10/10 You can't beat a $20 2.1 setup! Experience: 6/10 (but for the money I spent, 9.5/10) I honestly thought these were going to be junk, but they actually sound fairly decent, and half way up is plenty loud to more than overcome my window AC unit in the little room I rent out. Recommendation: ?/? It depends on your needs. Budget friendly and NOT an audiophile, I would HIGHLY recommend. If you want something loud, these won't really do, but they are plenty for movies or music in a small room. and they don't look too bad either! Extremely pleasantly surprised. 4/5 because, well, I've DEFINITELY heard better, but the value for these is just out of this world!

This system was easy to hook up, and looks great. The sound quality is what you'd expect, not great but for the price it's better than expected. I just wish it were able to get a bit louder, and the subwoofer enhances low end but not a whole lot.
