I looked around online at reviews at quite a few different speakers. I found this and decided it would fit what I was looking for extremely well. Insignia really did a great job on designing this set. My only complaint would probably be the side speakers being silver instead of black. Nothing against the item, just a personal preference since the subwoofer is black. The external control has multiple jacks to allow for anything to plug into the AUX port, as well as a headphone jack to allow for a secondary connection without having to play the cord swapping game. I use this at work in a workshop type setting and this works extremely well. If you are looking for something fairly inexpensive that sounds great, this is what I would suggest.

I got this for my grandma as a Christmas present. She hadn't had a computer or sound for years. This blew her away! She got up and started dancing when we turned the music on. She hasn't done that in 25 years. It is just enough sound with some added bass for the casual listener. It makes Netflix sound better if you plan on sitting at the computer a little longer.

Very good performance from a small set of speakers . Very convenient on/off and volume control it will not blast you out of the room but it does what it's supposed to , giving you a good sound while you are surfing on line and checking out the latest music or YouTube releases.

I was looking for a speaker that had good bass & good quality sound for an affordable price, and this speaker set worked out great. I was hoping for more bass coming from the main speaker, but it sounds good with the volume adjusted just right. Good & affordable speakers!

I purchased these mainly because of the easy access to the headphone jack. The volume dial has a nice function, the blue leds are a good touch for looks and the speakers themselves have a nice audio range considering how inexpensive they are. The set up was simpler than past 2.1 speaker sets.

These speakers sound very good for the price and really good bass but I wouldn't recommend putting the bass all the way. You need to find a lower end part of the bass to get the all around tone when watching normal videos but music sounds awesome with the bass cranked up.

If you want good speakers for the price then look no further. Place the woofer on the floor and the satellite speakers anywhere around the desk and place the small wired remote within reach to control them. While I have some older much more expensive speaker on my other computer these are great for the money and size.

I use this item when playing pc games. Head phones can be plugged in to it. Volume control and inlet for auxiliary sound devices (head phone and microphone) are united on the central control unit. A very easy plug and play unit.

These are great beginner speakers and the subwoofer is an added bonus. The sound quality is much better than the standard setup from my dual monitors alone. Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to bring their pc gaming or regular activities to life. Price is Right, too... So it was a great investment.

Very loud and clear, great sound for the right price

These speakers have a really nice clear sound. They can get much louder than my previous ones. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the wires all over are a little annoying as well as the separate bass control. The price was terrific for what I got.

These speakers came with a powered subwoofer for only $10.00 more dollars than the Logitech bookshelf speakers (which didn't come with a subwoofer).

Mom needed an upgrade. She watches YouTube, listens to music and podcasts. The dedicated external volume knob makes adjusting volume and bass quick and easy. If it ain't quick and easy she doesn't like it, but this suited her needs perfectly.

If you're looking for a fairly cheap upgrade to your computer's sound, this would be a good route to go. Keep in mind these are not high end speakers at high end prices. They do however sound good especially at this price. They don't take up much space on the desk which is also a plus.

Crazy good for the price. Is it better than the high end Logitech system or my M-audio powered monitors? Of course not. But it's a huge upgrade to what I was using in my office for iTUNES and it sounds really good without taking up much space at all. Thanks, guy who returned this so I could get a great deal!

Great inexpensive computer speakers with subwoofer. Quite decent sound when listening to music.

I was looking for a non expensive system for my computer when i found this with good reviews, even if is Insignia, and after a while I am not disappointed great sound great quality, ease to use not complaint for the price.
