It does require a separate plug in power source so make sure you have one available. However I have been rewatching a series for several weeks on my DVD player and have experienced no issues with the adapter.

I use this in order to play the N64, original xbox and NES gaming systems with the kids.

I had read an assortment of reviews on this type of product. I am pleased to say the installation was easy and it connected well to our SmartTV with the proper wires. The results were very good and I was able to begin enjoying our old movies and tv shows. The salesman told us if we had an problems it was always returnable - that's what is great about Best Buy.

New TV’s are wonderful but sometimes you want to watch an old DVD or a VHS tape but the machine has the wrong wires. Unfortunately, smart as the TV is, it just can’t use your old wires. This adapter isn’t the only thing you need though. Remember the HDMi cable!
