A RCA to HDMI converter that really works!

My newer TV's don't have RCA connections. The others either never worked, or the picture was lousy. This converter worked great! The picture looks great. I don't see any difference between the 720 & 1080 settings, but who cares, the image looks crisp. I'm sure there has to be some loss at the edges, but I couldn't tell. It's not a cheap unit, but I got it on sale which made it more palatable. Highly recommend.

But I also needed to be able to connect a VHS player to the tv to watch old home videos. So I bought this since it could accomplish both tasks. I didn't want to pay $50 for it, so since it was on sale it was time to buy. I was apprehensive since I know that watching VHS on new tv's greatly reduces picture & sound quality. Much to my surprise, this converter not only worked without a glitch but the quality on my 70 inch screen is great! I am again able to enjoy old vhs home videos of past Christmases, Thanksgivings, kids, etc on my large screen and I am loving it. 11/18/2019

I wanted to convert an older VHS tape player from the standard AV plugs (red, yellow, white) to the Smart TV HDMI plugin. I was looking at the converter, and the connecting cable (from converter to TV input). I thought that I had the correct items, but a young employee came and asked me, “Are you finding what you’re looking for!” I related what my goal was, and it turns out that the converter and cable I had selected were backwards from what I needed. He pulled the correct items out, and I am now sharing history with my kids. As many laughs now, if not more, than 30-35 years ago. THANK YOU YOUNG TECH GUY! Thank You Best Buy!!

Glad to have it, itt allows me to watch old 30+ yrs of recordings from my camcorders that I otherwise could not have. My granddaughter with her grandpop, who is no longer with us. Brought back some very good memories. Many other things on them I had long forgotten.

It does a nice job upgrading the picture to 1080p. It is worth the price. I have a Pioneer Elite Receiver with 6 HDMI INPUTS and this gadget makes it easier to switch between components. It takes care of picture and sound in one simple connection to my receiver. I am always happy purchasing Best Buy Insignia products.

Before using this, the image was black and white on their newer Smart TV, and once we plugged this in to convert to HDMI signal, it was like the PS2 could display just like any other console that came equipped with HDMI I/O! Worked without issue, not fiddling with any settings and you won't need a user manual to figure it out.
