very basic remote.

No direct access to the external TV stations. you have to go through the menu which is tedious. There were no directions for it. So who knows how to program the optional buttons. It turns the tv on and works the menus. Very minimal.

Great Replacement Remote

Worked right out of the box with my Sony TV and 4K Blu-ray player. No programming needed even though it comes with a programing guide and a book of programing codes. Works long distance as well. Works from at least 15 feet away. The only thing is it doesn't come with batteries but other than that it is a great remote. It is high quality and the buttons feel nice. I just wish it lit up. Does everything the original Sony remote did.

The original remote has no digits which allow you to retrieve a channel by simply selecting the numbers. The replacement remote did allow me to switch channels without having to go through a menu every time I wanted to switch channels.

This doesn't affect it's functionality at all, but it's pretty long. Will that impact your decision to buy it? Probably not. But it should still probably be said.

The remote was preprogrammed for Sony TVs and it worked the first time I went to turn on the TV. Now I can watch sports in my bed when I want to!

I dreaded having to spend time pushing all sorts of buttons to get it to sync up with our Sony flat screen, but much to my surprise, it began working the moment I put batteries in it. One touch of the green power button and our TV started working like new again.

Was weary of how difficult it would be to pair to the TV. I was extremely surprised on how easy the setup was. Simply opened the box, placed batteries into the remote, and from there, was able to control the TV.
