Works Great, Keeps the Peace

I purchased these wireless headphones for my elderly father. He tends to get up in the middle of the night and watches TV. His hearing isn't so great, so he turns the volume up loud and wakes the household. Headphones seemed to be the solution but he didn't want wires strung through the room. There are many bluetooth options but they can be cumbersome to pair and connect, especially for the more technically challenged. These headphones turned out to be the perfect solution. The base connects through the TV's line out and/or optical toslink output. I say "and" because I connected it to both. This eliminated issues with the input being switched to an unconnected input to avoid confusion and frustration.
Bottom-line, my dad finds these headphones easy to operate and comfortable. The household finds peace. The sound quality is decent, not really up to my high fidelity standards but not bad and certainly good for TV. The only thing I would change in the design is to mark the volume control buttons more clearly or to change them to a knob instead of buttons. Other than that, they are a great product.

The volume adjustment needs more steps between way too soft and way too loud. Battery last longer than any movie that I have used them. Sound quality is better than expected at this pricepoint.

This headset works flawlessly! Easy to understand directions and comes with a charging station. The price is worth it. The sound is clear, no background static noise. I use it to watch TV in bed late at night so i don't disturb my spouse or upstairs neighbors in our Apt. Music sounds crystal clear and vibrant.
Worth every penny! The on/ off button is on the right ear side. Blue is on/ red off. This comes with written info in the box.
Mine are black. Not sure if there is a color choice or not.

The 1st time I bought this was march 3rd 2019. It was Very easy to install. It Works with older and newer tv's, ( digital optical audio connection) The sound quality is excellent. No popping or crackling sounds like other brands. They can get Loud if you want them to.. I found the sound button is a little hard to locate and adjust if you dont take the headsets off. A quirk?.. if your tv pauses too long more than 15 min the ear phones will need to be put back on the charger to resync but it takes less than 30 sec to resync them. I'm not sure if there is another way to do it. The original instructions were thrown out with the box on accident.. There is a charging light and another light on the base that indicates the ear phones are synced. The light indicators change between blue, white, red & green. There is also a light on the earphones that also changes color based on what mode they are in. (Charging, syncing, low battery, etc.) unfortunately they were dropped or my cat got ahold of them or both recently and the right ear phone connection wasnt working with out playing with it. I wanted them right away and didnt want to wait for them to be shipped and they weren't available at the store so i bought a different name brand. it cost ALOT more money, it had a few more features, but I couldnt use the digital optical and the sound quality sucked so I returned the sony and I bought this one again. I love it!

My old TV headphone - top rated on Amazon - worked reasonably well until the headband broke. I epoxyed it back together but it then broke in another place. I bought this one (open box- very reasonably priced) based on a recommendation from a reliable reviewer -- Wirecutter? It provides excellent sound when using my TV's optical output and good range. It's comfortable to wear. The headband seems sturdy enough and if it lasts longer than my previous one, I'll be happy.

Sound quality, battery life and connectivity are all excellent as indicated. These headphones were the perfect choice for us. They were easy to set up and pair with the TV that we bought them for. The one thing that I would advise is that if they are bought for use by an older person you may need to remind them that when they are not in use they need to be returned to the stand so that they will maintain a good charge. That is a user issue not an issue at all with this item. We are very pleased with this product.

These headphones are light, fairly comfortable over-the-ear and simple to set up. The range easily allowed me to walk around my two story house without interruption. They are decent for hooking up to a non-wireless capable devices and letting you listen quietly on your own. You can connect with TOSLink optical cable (not included) using PCM only, or with RCA jacks and the included 3.5mm adapter to RCA. So, you can essentially have two audio sources that you can switch between with a button on the headphones.
However, there are a few problems I have with this headset. The base station is larger than my cable modem, but it does hold the headphones for charging, the only way to charge them. The images on the box show a good comparison of how big it is. They are for a small use situation that can be achieved with a Bluetooth adapter and a cheaper set of headphones and those headphones could then be used with any other Bluetooth device. These headphones are essentially Bluetooth, but only work with the base station. The sound quality isn’t the worst I have ever heard, but there is an awful metallic echo sound every time the sound goes quiet. You can simulate the sound by tapping on the outside of the headphone. It is one of those sounds that once you hear it, you can’t unhear it and your ears feel like they are ringing the whole time you are listening to something. They seem cheaply made due to the material and weight, but they handled some good twists and bends without breaking.
If I could pair the headphones with my phone and then switch over to my TV connected to the base station, on the opposite side of the room, I might have considered them a little more useful. However, the metallic echo sound is what really throws me off with these and unless you like feeling like you have tinnitus, it's not worth it.

Set up was quick and easy. Less than 5mins I had the headphones working with my Tv via the RCA Jacks. You can also use an optical cable but just make sure the output is set to pcm and not dolby digital or else they won't work. As for the rca jack settings I have them set to fixed so I can control the volume from the headhones instead. Sound quality is good and have a decent amount of bass and they also get loud too. I did not experience any audio drops so the range is pretty good. The headphones themselves are comfortable enough to wear for a couple of hours. Build quality is good and they don't feel cheap with care you should get a couple of years from them. They are rated for 10hrs of usuage and charging is very simple just put the headphones back on the base unit. Overall they are a pretty good barebones wireless headphones that get the job done. Comes handy at night when our little one is asleep for school.

As a coal miner for 40 years and also working construction I have lost 38% of my hearing and wear hearing aids. I use closed caption but still unable to understand the tv until now. Since purchasing and using the insignia brand headphones I can now understand what is being said. Prior to the headphones I even quit watching the evening news because I could only understand about 50% of what was being said. Now I can understand 100% of the dialogue. Im not sure who loves these more, me or my wife. Now she can have the volume of the tv set at her comfort level and thru the headset I set my own. Even at night if I am watching tv the tv volume can be turned down to 0% and I can hear at my own comfort level. Prior to the Insignia brand I tried a more expensive set and they were not even close to this good.

Hard to know how to rate these, because I love everything about them EXCEPT that yesterday I exchanged my 4th pair in less than a YEAR, and I have to exchange them too now! The issue has been reach & every time the audio just suddenly, and with no warning the sound cuts off. One pair quit within the 15 day return policy, so I didn’t have to purchase another protection plan, and the set (the 5th) yesterday didn’t work at all! Calling insignia didn’t help at all. They told me to contact Best Buy, but they are well aware of my experience. Not happy at all, and would definitely look at other options, if I could find any with the same fit, sound (when there is sound) and they hold a charge a very long time. I hate headsets that have too many swiveling parts. These ONLY adjust to lengthen, not swivel.
Have to return/exchange AGAIN today. Not happy!

I use these just about every day. They are nice and light weight and quite comfortable. They were very easy to set up and the sound is pretty darn good. They aren't really music headphones. They were made to watch TV without disturbing others (my wife). These are much better than my old wireless headphones which were Amazon brand. This pair seems to be better constructed. I was going to purchase the Sennheiser, but my last experience with an expensive pair of wired Sennheisers was very disappointing.

I'm getting pretty hard of hearing, and I especially want to hear dialog. These help somewhat, they're very easy to setup, adjust for volume and use, fairly comfortable, with no drops or cutouts, and the battery lasts for hours. Although they're great for isolating the sound to yourself, the vocal sounds are somewhat muffled, I'm now trying a $200 Sennheiser set.

Range and connectivity is really good. I got tired of connection issues of BT headphones connected to my computer. I hook the charging base up to the back of my computer with an optical cable and it always works perfect without any hassle. I use these just about all day at work and their size and weight make them very comfortable to wear without any fatigue and they don't get sweaty. Sound quality is mediocre when compared to BT headphones like Bose Quite Comfort ones I was using but is perfectly adequate for casual listening. If you're hoping for an immersive movie theater like listening experience in your living room then these will come up short, but for just about everything else they work just fine.

This Wireless headset works well and has held up now for a few years already. If you leave it idle, it does lose connection, but it is easy enough to resync. I use an optical audio cable for it that's supported split from the feed to my soundbar. Sound quality is good, but two slight negatives: 1. It can cause interference with WiFi and they don't give you any idea what frequencies it is operating at in their manual so you can work around it (changing the placement worked for me). 2. The way it sits on the cradle for recharge and sync is pretty particular and doesn't always line up cleanly. It'd be nice to have a stripe or something on the outside of headset (or a notch) so that you can line it.
