This is my 2nd purchase of this speaker! My 1st one lasted 3 years (still turn on, just doesn’t hold charge) decided to purchase again and couldn’t be more happier

Fantastic Bluetooth speaker for $10. Well rounded tone.

I'm only giving it one star more than the lowest rating because it does have a good quality sound. But it keeps disconnecting from my phone. I had a JBL Bluetooth speaker before this and it's being used elsewhere but I never had problems like this. If I pause a video for any more than 30 seconds it disconnects from the speaker and I have to go under Bluetooth and re-enable it. And then it died which was fine but I plugged it in and within 10 minutes my phone is reporting that it's at 90%, which makes no sense. How freaking small is this battery?

My Insignia Rugged Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Black) shuts down randomly and emits rapid cracking sounds while intermittently turning on and off, even when plugged in and placed right next to the computer. This issue has occurred within just six months of use. I’m unsure if the speaker is defective, but due to this problem, it is essentially useless. I do not recommend this product.

Bottom Line Up Front - This is a perfectly acceptable small water resistant bluetooth speaker at a relatively attractive price (less than $10). The main deficiency is the apparent lack of any button or control to change music tracks on your phone using the speaker. The speaker comes with a rubberized exterior including speaker controls that seem to be splash resistant as advertised. I bought it for my daughter who wanted to use it to listen to music she stores on her phone while showering. Remaining comments are hers. The speaker has adequate volume and sound quality for its size and has so far worked well when placed in the shower and does not seem to be affected by humidity. The speaker has an attached strap which would be useful to hang the speaker from the shower spout. Unfortunately, the strap is so long that the speaker would be directly under the shower water spray if hung from the shower head. Instead I placed it toward the back of the shower. So far, it seems to work well in that position despite occasionally getting splashed with relatively small amounts of water. The speaker does have up/down volume control buttons. However, there is a quite dramatic change in volume (up or down) even with one button press so it is better to set the volume with your phone’s controls before showering. There is a very loud piercing beep whenever the speaker connects via bluetooth to your phone and/or when the volume control on the speaker has been advanced to maximum. While I appreciate the notification, I wish they hadn’t made the beep so loud and piercing. I also wish they had placed the phone button somewhere else on the speaker other then between the volume buttons. Since the buttons are small and hard to see due to the lack of contrast between the color of the buttons and the speaker, accidental phoning is very possible. I feel a better design solution would have been to locate that button somewhere away from the volume controls. I have not found a way to switch back and forth between music tracks through the speaker, a feature I wish it had. I feel this is the main deficiency with the speaker Overall, a decent speaker, particularly for the current price. As indicated above, the one thing the speaker seems to lack is any apparent control to switch between tracks through the speaker. It is quite frustrating not being able to do that when in the shower.

I have been buying Insignia products here for a while, I own an Insignia version of an instant pot, their 2.1 soundbar + subwoofer combo, two pairs of Bluetooth headphones, etc. The products themselves are always decent, actually pushing the boundaries of price to value. This little badboy is no exception. It's ridiculously easy to set up, has decent battery life and it sounds good. Like legit, I bring it to work to put on music for everyone and they're impressed with the quality, doubly so because of the price I paid for it. The thing is small, square and cool looking. That is part of the appeal though, it's small size. It easily fits in your pockets, meaning you can easily transport it to and from anywhere. The speaker actually sounds as good as others that cost six times as much and it's pretty loud too considering how small it is. Legit, the thing cranks and there's no distortion or hissing that I can detect from it. I can live without being able to skip tracks from the speaker, considering I am mostly streaming the music from my phone, this doesn't bother me but I can see where others would consider it a detriment. All things considered though, this is such an awesome speaker and an amazing bang for the buck. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a good sounding, solidly designed, Bluetooth speaker on the cheap and I can say this without hesitation. You will get what you paid for and then some. Make great gifts too.

Excellent Compact Tough Bluetooth Speaker I use it in my car, work and home to play my music playlist from m android phone. The speaker is pretty loud when outside and when you lower the volume say in an inside environment sounds pretty good. I dropped it a few times on cement, pavement and dirt and it took the hit with no damage to the case or speaker. The charge will last all day but would need to be recharged after that.

Surprisingly loud for how small it is and clear. I've had other BT speakers that when you max tend to get clipped or distorted, and this is not the case. It can be in the back of my garage maxed out and it's extremely clear when i'm down at the bottom of my driveway washing cars I take it in the shower each morning to catch up on news and whatnot. Pretty long battery life. Another plus is some BT devices will not allow you to play them while charging, you can charge this while listening which is a huge plus. I may pick up an extra as a back up or to keep one in my backpack and one at home

I already have a UE Boom for high quality, high volume, full sound. I use this Insignia device more for listening to podcasts around the house because it is small and easy to carry around. Also for camping, because it has decent sound and seems durable, so don't need to worry if it gets sligtly wet or bumped around a bit. So far, it works great for me given the very affordable price.

I purchased this my 14yr old daughter so she would stop bothering her siblings to use their speakers. It has a surprisingly crisp high and decent bass for a speaker of this size and price point. Its rugged enough to handle her less than graceful moments, and is also waterproof. The battery life is decent and she hold down the volume buttons to skip tracks on Pandora.
