I tried my USB-C port, then used a USB-A adapter and port - just the blue light and nothing else. Tried it on another older drive and same result. I had to go back to my old Sabrent tool (2014) to read the drive, which could still read both. Maybe it is a power issue and the cable doesn't have the current required to read/spin the drive. So no, I would not recommend this cable.

Perfect tool for cloning

The cloning process was a bit slow, but I am not sure if I can attribute the slowness to the adapter, the slower HDD being cloned or the cloning software(Acronis). The end product was a perfectly cloned bootable SDD with a perfect mirror image of windows.
