I'm not certain if it was the adapter or the laptop. But I needed an adapter to set up a second monitor for my office desk. This worked okay in the first port, periodically the computer ran slow and I had a lot of hiccups. On a whim I switched ports and all of my issues resolved. I do run the mouse and keyboard out of the port that didn't work so I am not certain which is the problem. Works Great Now! I am very happy with it.

The software was unreliable, image was spotty and the colors did not match the other monitor. I spent the extra money on this adapter and it works GREAT. It was very easy to install, you can download the software from the insignia website. The colors match, very responsive, no glitches. Highly recommend it.

When using the display port to connect I was still getting the lower resolution. While searching for a solution it was tough to come by information both on the internet and by talking to people. So I purchased this and the BestBuy rep. wasn't sure it would work for my needs, but said I could try it and return it if it didn't. Brought it home, installed the driver, hooked up the monitor, and voila it worked like a charm, 1920 x 1080 resolution on my external monitor. It was like a Christmas Miracle.

Need this to connect a surface laptop with only usb connections to a teleprompter monitor through hdmi. Didn't need to download drivers or anything. Windows recognized the device, and the teleprompter software on the laptop was on the teleprompter screen less than a second after I plugged it in.
