I wanted an HD radio that had both am and fm channels. This one does not have am channels. It does not show the time either. Also, there are times that the reception is not clear. It is OK FOR NOW. I WANT TO GET A BETTER ONE.

Purchased mostly for power outage abilities for use to stay in touch with news etc. sound and reception is so much better than replaced radio. Great buy

Especially when it is plugged in. However, the receiver is stronger than most radios, especially in this price range. The controls are difficult to use. The size is nice. It is very portable. Overall, it is OK for it's price and I would buy it again.

They look almost identical - but the changes made to this model did NOT improve it. Tuning is more difficult and not intuitive. Will keep the new one at home & use the older unit for everyday use and travel. An example of change not improving a product.

Unable to get presets

However, I could not get the stations I wanted using the presets - I have nerve damage in my hands. I did not feel that the radio was well made. And if I did not have the stations that I wanted preset, the radio would break down in the near future.

Great sound

It works perfectly. The buttons on top are hard to see so he has to pick it up and really look for the right button, but other than that we are really happy with it.
