With the antenna fully extended and pointed toward a window, few stations will come in clearly. My old boom box picks up better with no external antenna.

It's also hard to change stations and the auto-tuning feature is sketchy a best. Look harder for something designed by someone who has actually USED a portable AM-FM radio in their life. Also, it is so cheaply built that its battery holder won't hold batteries. So what's the point?

It's HD reception, backlit LCD display, and slim design were all a bonus. It does not receive AM, but tunes both standard and HD FM. It's headphone jack is the 1/8" variety, perfect for my needs.

Needless to say, I jumped at this opportunity. Altogether, I paid little over $13.00 for it. Unfortunately, that was a waste of $13.00. Although most of the reviews give it a plus for audio quality, I found it terribly lacking. Even with it having dual speakers, it sounds very tinny (even in stereo mode). It's as if the speakers were made of cardboard. The sound is muffled, with very limited highs & lows. I now understand why this was a "Open-Box" returned item....if I had bought it for the $60.00 price of a new model, I would have returned it too! I will say that the telescoping antenna is very long...allowing for decent reception. But it's still not worth it at any price. It is quite heavy, which usually indicates quality....but not in this case. Stay away..far,far away.

Great for the beach

This one does the trick. The only thing I do not like about the radio is the volume control. I is a (+ -) button and I find that there is too much of a difference between clicks. I would like more control.

Also wished radio offered bluetooth capability, does have aux line in rear.
