The batteries are AA and I was scared I would mess up the wire that the batteries have to be attached to. There are 4 batteries and two go in the bottom and two on top of the first two batteries.

Antenna is not very well designed as it breaks easily. I went through two of these radios. This is the second one. The first one I got was purchased without signing up for rewards account at the time.

So bought it and was very surprised to find out that it was FM and HD only. THis should have been stated on the outside of the box that it was in but No. Who ever heard of buying a radio with no AM.
