It's too touchy for fine tuning stations, even in a large metro. It has an HD tuner which limits station options. I use it in my RV when traveling and no matter where I am, HD on or off, it can't pick up diddly. I would not recommend this item

Just ok as not happy with reception. The volume jumps to being too loud from the lowest to the very best setting, making it not a great choice for using in office.

Sound quality of speakers is mediocre. It's hard to use. Button are poorly labeled and awkwardly placed. Had difficulty tuning into some of the weaker local stations. No AM.

Control buttons are hopelessly small and poorly placed.. There are many better radios to buy which are feature rich and are have better design.

Bought specifically to listen to hd subchannels. Failed completely after one day. Still gets regular channels but not hd. Why is it so hard to find a decent hd radio?

I purchased this radio hoping that the antenna would be able to reach stations for a cabin located in the mountains. It got worse reception than a much less expensive brand. Unless you are in a location where you can obtain good radio reception don't buy this radio.

I bought this radio because I wanted to get a particular station that was only available on HD2 which this radio was supposed to get. I thought it was a little expensive but was willing to pay $54.00 if I could get the station I wanted. I was not able to get a good signal for HD2 and the reception on the regular stations was not that great. This radio costs way more than it's worth. I could get better reception on the regular stations from a cheap radio from a dollar store.

The radio would not pull in WSVH HD stations even though it was being used in the local area, with antenna fully extended, and with no hills (flat terrain) to interfere with the signal. The radio was returned.

The controls are in tiny writing which makes them nearly impossible to read. Also, I could only get a few stations that I enjoy.

This device doesn't work on batteries like it is designed to. An overall disappointment

I didn't realize that it didn't have the AM band until I was over the two week return policy. Extremely disappointed!

Was hoping to get the HD channels that my car radio receives but it didn't work in the bedroom. May work well in other areas of the US

battery doesnt last long even if i place an energizer battery.

Shuts off by itself after playing for a while. I even put 2 sets of new batteries in.

I owned the previous generation of this Insignia radio, and overall this new model improves upon the design. If you're looking for an affordable FM radio for a small room or bathroom, this is a nice option. The sound quality is good, and it's probably the lowest priced HD Radio you can find. The sound is notably directional--meaning it's loud and clear when the unit is directly pointing at you, but the loudness drops off to the sides. This is a change from the previous model, but it's not necessarily a bad thing since you can direct where the sound is going (good in an office), but if you move around the room you may need to change the position of the radio a bit. This radio is best for news and talk radio, or music in an office, it probably won't fill a room with sound. Tuning stations and adding presets to the memory is simple and works well, they improved the flow for adding stations to memory. The reception seems to be very good in the big city where I am located, easily picking up HD-1, 2, and 3 stations where available. The design and build quality are solid. The unit is a little heavier than you might expect, but it seems to be well constructed and the quality is good for the price. It operates on battery or AC, I keep rechargeable batteries installed so I can move it from one room to another when needed. The AUX jack is convenient to hook up a phone to listen to music or podcasts, etc. It would be 5 stars if the sound was a little more room-filling. Overall I'm happy with this updated radio, and I recommend it for radio fans on a budget!

Bought this little radio to replace one on a nightstand that had finally played out. Right from the start the reception on the new radio was terrible. Moving the built-in antenna around did nothing to eliminate the static nor did moving the radio itself help. We finally returned the radio to the store for a refund.
