I don't know if I am being fair with my review, it is just that there was a gap between the product and my expectation; however, maybe I was wrong in regards to my expectations. In any case, the device is much bigger than I originally thought it was, and it doesn't have AM radio, only FM. However, I should have checked the dimensions and I had t make sure that it has AM before buying it. I only assumed it had. So, make sure about all specs before buying it. Sorry that I don't have something specific regarding how well it is operating or something else in that regard.

I wanted a small HD portable radio and this little gem was perfect. It goes everywhere with me. Good fidelity and works anywhere. Love it!

This tabletop radio gets great reception and takes very little space. Bought as a gift for my mom to use in her kitchen and she loves it. I’m buying another for my office!

I got this because it was on sale making what even at full retail price is inexpensive by HD Radio standards a full-on steal. I did not have any other radios that could receive HD Radio so I decided to get it. I have rated this 3 stars (I would have gone 3.5 if I could put half stars in) for two main reasons: no AM reception and mediocre analog FM reception. The former is not that big of a deal, I already have other radios that do AM just fine and for the price I paid it's an acceptable compromise, but if I had paid full price for this radio that would have been a major disappointment (especially as there are stations that broadcast HD Radio on AM). The other reason is a bigger issue. I'm not sure if it's due to cost-cutting, a poor attempt at noise reduction, or just an attempt to make HD seem better in comparison but the reception of analog FM signals is pretty mediocre. The stereo separation for stations broadcasting analog stereo is very poor. I almost can't tell the difference from mono when the "stereo" indicator is lit up on the display even when using headphones. Additionally, the frequency response seems very rolled off on the top end and, especially on weak stations, it's prone to sibilance. Comparing this with my Tecsun PL-380 DSP receiver (which does not support HD) it's night and day on non-HD signals: the stereo is much more noticeable, the highs are clearer, and there is no sibilance on the Tecsun (though the Tecsun has a bit more background hiss). The Tecsun also seems to have better sensitivity but that's harder to compare. As for positives, this radio seems to receive HD very well. Even with marginal/weak stations I can get it to lock in as long as I'm careful in positioning the receiver and antenna. That's good news as being able to receive the HD2 and HD3 sub-channels was my main reason for buying this radio. Being a digital signal, none of the complaints I had about the quality of the analog reception apply to HD: it all sounds very clear with good stereo separation and good highs (though you do suffer digital compression artifacts instead, but that's not the fault of the radio). I appreciate that a wall power adapter was included in the box, though I would have preferred a standard USB socket (instead of a DC barrel jack) as it's 5v anyways and then I could power this from a USB power bank. Another review I saw said it didn't work with rechargeable batteries but it seems to work just fine with some Eneloop NiMH rechargeables I tried. I also appreciate that an aux input was included since I can use it to listen to my phone (or my Tecsun radio) in stereo with decent quality. In summary: if you want a receiver mainly to listen to HD stations and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the radio to get. If you want to listen to analog FM or AM or really any other type of radio spend your money elsewhere.

It is a pleasure to use this radio because of the easy way to figure out how to set the stations. It is a pleasure to listen to this radio because the sound is smooth and consistent.

Good sound and large digital display. Controls on top are easy to see and use. Bought for someone who is in bed a lot and listens mostly to ball games and talk radio.

Bought this radio to use at work! It works great and looks so well. My coworkers asked me where I got it and bought one as well! The only flaw is the volume levels are fixed and you can’t go in between like you can on a phone. This is an easy fix when connecting my phone as I can control the volume with it but not with the other options.

This is a Christmas gift for my sister She has been wanting to replace her HD radio I had a hard time finding one for her

Moderate sized, fits in one hand. The radio is light weight and relatively easy to use with good but not great tone. However, it lacks sensitivity. I know, from using my car radio, that their are several digital radio stations near my house, but I can only receive 2. While the one I am wanted is among the two I can receive on this radio, the sensitivity of the radio does not allow me to receive the various sub-channels with any reliability.

difficult to find a lo priced HD radio receiver -sound quality is good it receives all local HD stations--however the tuning menu is difficult to master and not as accessible as i would like. also the light stays on all the time and there is no dimmer switch for bed time use

I use it in my camper when I leave my dog inside while I get somethings from the store. The size is compact. The sound is quite good. A little expensive but was not to bad.

I bought this for my mother so she can take it outside and listen to her music. I was pleasantly surprised at the great sound of this portable, little radio.

Was looking for as simple of a FM radio as I could find to listen to sports while at work. This was WAY more fancy than I needed but I'm very satisfied with purchase. Runs by plugging it in or on battery... for those times you're not near an outlet. Digital tuning and good sound quality. Overall a good "fancy" simple portable radio.
