TWO antennas compared
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 indoor TV antennas from Best Buy: ULTRA-THIN HDTV (no amp) MULTIDIRECTIONAL HDTV (no amp) The Thin one was $25, the panel one was $20. I performed autoscans and the Multidirectional (panel) received 42 channels, although not well, and since it is multidirectional there is no way to position it to improve reception. The design is awkward and a thick cable makes it difficult to avoid the antenna falling over, and an extremely short cable makes it tough to find a location for it. The Ultra-thin received 74 channels with good quality. It was thin and light and very easy to set up with a thin cable that was long enough to find a good location for it that enables you to maximize reception. The reception rivaled another thin antenna I had that came with an amplifier, and those generally cost more, and the amplification may help some channels and hurt others.

I’m using this with a Vizio smart TV and once I connected to antenna, I just needed to let the TV scan for available channels and that was it! Although I’ve positioned the antenna high up and close to a large window, I have a bunch of trees right in my backyard that I worried would affect the signal but it’s receiving crystal clear. Try this antenna out!

No fuss to connect and hang. Pretty simple and great addition to my Roku and Sling TV experience...cut the cord NOW get away from the high cost of cable and satillite providers.
