Customers frequently mention the excellent reception, ease of use, and good picture quality of the Ultra-Thin Indoor Plate HDTV Antenna. Many also appreciate its affordable price and compact size, making it easy to install and place discreetly. However, some customers note that signal strength can be inconsistent, and the adhesive may not always securely attach the antenna to the wall. Overall, the positive feedback on reception and ease of use outweighs the concerns about signal and adhesive.

Without precise aiming to the VHF stations in my area, it receives the UHV well enough to receive them.
It seems the adhesive on the mounting pads is old. Now I will have to again move the television to remount the antenna on the wall.

The antenna so thin, made so poorly and extremely fragile comes with 3M double sided foam sticky tapes to put in wall. Fell 3 days later from wall and broke easily and cheap materials.

I bought this for my daughter who has chosen not to pay for either cable or satellite tv service. All she had was streaming through a Roku. While that worked for most of her preferred tv watching, not having access to local channels and broadcast networks was becoming annoying. She lives 20-35 miles west of the major broadcast antennas in her city and fortunately her tv was wall mounted on the east wall of her home. Hookup was a breeze. Everything needed was included. The only problem was the double stick tape mounts which only lasted a few hours on the antenna surface. These double stick tape mounts were pretty worthless. Better to find a another way to mount the antenna.
Here are some no-duh tips:
1. Don’t mount the antenna on the back of the tv itself. Too much heat and electronic interference will cause loss of signal.
2. Don’t wedge the antenna in a metal tv wall mount. The steel blocks the signal very effectively!
3. Try to have the face of the antenna point toward broadcast towers, not the edge. You can look up location of towers in your area on some easy websites. Here is one example: https://www.antennasdirect.com/transmitter-locator.html
4. Don’t add cable extensions from this antenna to your tv. This is not a high power antenna and length of cable reduces signal strength. Use what is supplied in the package.

Really impressed! The antenna is pretty small, and mounts discreetly on the wall behind the tv. The dual color black/white is a great idea and lets you choose which side looks best.
Very easy to use - just fix to the wall, connect to the tv and tune in. We got 65 channels, all with excellent picture quality. We didn’t use the supplied adhesive tabs, and used command strips instead so we could remove it if necessary without damaging the wall paint.

Once I was able to locate the antenna in a south facing window was able to bring in about 26 channels. I will drop the ones that are furthest away from time to time and it will pixel out during certain weather conditions. Bottom line if you are within about 20 miles from your local broadcast towers and you can get the antenna in a 2nd floor window facing the direction of the towers, you should be able to bring in those channels. If you are trying to send signal to multiple tv's you really need something more powerful and robust.

I bought this antenna and a more powerful ($100) Directional antenna. There are only a couple of towers within 20 miles of my home but I wanted to compare the two and keep the one that worked best. The insignia took about 30 seconds to install. The rooftop directional antenna took a trip up on the roof to hook it up to the old Direct TV satellite cable. After trying both, they had the same reception. Same number of channels (25 or so) and the same HD picture quality. I’m sure that there are geographical locations that benefit from the more powerful rooftop antenna but in the Palm Springs Ca. area, the Insignia did just fine. I do miss having a DVR but am finding YouTube and The Spectrum Ap ($20 a month when bundled with internet) work pretty good for catching shows that I miss live. I don’t miss the $175 a month direct tv bill.

It was a decent buy at the Deal of the Day price. I live just outside metro Atlanta in a heavily wooded area, and so my signal strength isn’t very strong. I am able to get about 12 channels that don’t work at all on cloudy days and intermittently when planes fly over. I purchased 7 (5 for my mother, and she has great reception with over 50 channels on any given tv).

I looked at several antenna's for a TV in an extra room. I didn't chose the least expense nor did I choose the most expense. This antenna provides a clear picture and pulls up lots of local channels for a reasonable price. The flat design is great and you can lay (or hang) it anywhere. With once side black and the other white it will go with any décor.

I haven’t subscribed to cable TV in 20 years, and the Internet and broadband-fueled services like Netflix and Disney+ have provided more TV than one person could ever require. However, occasionally there are things that I wanted to watch that are only available on ‘regular’ TV, like certain sporting events, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and things like that. So a low-priced device to satisfy those specific needs is what I wanted and needed. Cue the Insignia Ultra Thin Indoor Plate HDTV antenna. I couldn’t be happier. It’s like a whole universe of free content has suddenly been returned to my life. While I won't be subscribing ti TV Guide to keep track of when Murder She Wrote is on, it does make it a lot easier to watch daily news, and network programming.
Setting up the device was as simple as plugging it in, using the supplied coaxial cable, into the back of my 4K HDTV (make sure your TV has one, as my 7.1 surround sound bar has plenty of HDMI inputs but no coaxial ports), having the TV do a one-time scan for available channels, and BOOM, all finished. Flipping through channels is as easy as pressing the channel button on my TV remote control. The picture quality ranges from super sharp (typically the major networks) to VHS quality (random networks that pop up in the scan). I found a few football games that were crystal clear. It’s not 4K as far as I can tell, but a stable 1080p running at high framerate during sportscasts and regular 24fps during normal TV shows.
I can’t confirm the sound quality in regards to how many channels it separated into, as I am watching it on a TV without an amplifier, but the sound quality is fine regardless. You’d need to check what audio signal your local network channels broadcasts in to be sure.

Good: Compact size, easy to install, unobstrusive. Not good: inflexible lead cord, hard to affix on the wall. Reception: improved but not spectacular compared to rabbit ear. A useful accessory for streamer- centered TV viewing, to get local digital broadcast channels.

This ultra thin HDTV antenna was very easy to install. There were reviews that the adhesive strips provided did not secure the antenna to the wall;therefore, I used a larger 3M Command strip and have had no problems. I hung the antenna on the wall above & behind the TV. I got excellent picture reception for 30 channels. I intermittently have reception issues with WMC, channel 5. My plan is to eventually cut cable on the two other tvs.

I have a mixed review. The antenna itself I would give 5 stars as it was easy to install and I get a decent number of channels. However, I would give 1 star due the outcome of attempting to hang the antenna with the adhesive provided as when I put it on the wall the channels got static, so I immediately tried to take it back down and I could not get it off the wall. Aside from pulling the paint it also pulled down to the drywall and I tried to fill it back in and paint, but it looks horrible now. Other reviews complained the adhesive did not hold. I can assure you it will now hold, but just don’t ever try to take it off or you will be missing part of your wall!

We were skeptical that the Insignia antenna would bring in adequate local channels since we live 36 miles from the towers in the far reach suburbs of a major city. Were we ever surprised! 80 channels, all the major networks and clear reception on each of them. It was easy to install and attaches to the wall without any problem. A great buy for under $20!

Good reception. Easy to use and install. A bit awkward to place for good reception. While the black and white options are nice for decor, flat surface does not always allow for the best reception. Good product at a reasonable price.

Great Over-the-Air TV Antenna

This Ultra-Thin Indoor Plate HDTV Antenna works great for getting "over-the-air" TV signals. I got it this antenna because one of our local stations (NBC affiliate) got into heated negotiations with DirecTV and DirecTV dropped the station from our programming package (temporarily). It was an inexpensive, and effective, way of getting NBC programming while DirecTV and our NBC affiliate worked out their differences. It's very thin, about the thickness of 3 sheets of paper, and light and can be taped to a wall, window, or I just laid it flat on a shelf near a window and the reception is exceptional. With one side being black and the other being white, you can pretty much have it fit into any decor in your house. As far as quality of the picture, you can't tell the difference between programming on over-the-air and any of the DirecTV channels. One unforeseen benefit is that I discovered that there are probably 65 over-the-air channels in our area that I didn't even know existed. We've enjoyed watching some of the oldies but goodies such as Leave it to Beaver and Flipper on meTV!

I recently moved to a different area of town further north of the city, and closer to the mountains. I ditched cable like in 2009 and never looked back. I had a regular older antenna and upon performing a channel scan I only received three channels, yes I said three. I scanned again and got five channels, then made it to 15 channels. I couldn't take it anymore! I saw this particular antenna before but never purchased until I read reviews, and then had a relative actually highly recommend it. I ordered online and it was on sale for $ 24.99, and the install was super fast and easy. Initially after my first channel scan I had about 47 channels, I scanned again later on and now I have almost 70 channels! That's a long way from the three I only had with my old school antennae. After seeing for myself the results, I plan to ditch my other older antenna in my bedroom, and purchase another Insignia antenna, this thing rocks and I no longer feel like I'm living in 1950 lol.

Bought this so I had something to watch when I get sick of videogames and am filled with rage at streaming services. Was afraid I wouldn't get much out of it, my window is in the middle of the house and about 6' away from my neighbor's wall. Managed to get pretty great reception, I WAS NOT AWARE broadcast had so many channels nowadays.
I get most of the English-speaking channels (I removed the others from my channel select, I am s bad Texan who knows zero Spanish)
2 comes in spotty, but the only channel I seem to be out and out unable to watch is Fox, so nothing of value has been lost.
If you're not in the market for cable, this should serve pretty dang well
