I had bought a refurbished laptop online and it did not come with a charger. I did not want to worry about purchasing one that did not fit so purchasing this item was a win-win. Now, I only have to use one charger for both my work and personal laptops - I only have to switch the top connector. No more extra cords! It also gives me peace of mind that if I do buy a new laptop, I will always have this as a backup charger if needed because it will fit nearly any device I purchase. Highly recommend!

Has all the options you need but wouod be better if it had carrying case to keeep up with so many little pieces

So far, the only device I haven't been able to charge with this thing out of the box is a Panasonic Toughbook, and those aren't exactly common. Everything else I've tried has worked just fine, from a relatively modern ThinkPad to a really old laptop from just before Windows 8 was a thing. None of the computers have complained about the voltage being off, and I haven't noticed any performance issues while using the charger. While I would recommend using the 90w variant if you want to charge a Dell, this one seems to be working just fine for everything else so far.

Every time I tried to find an OEM laptop charger, I gave up the search and decided to get the plug-and-play charger that automated the correct setting. Once, it turned out that I did find one for my daughter's laptop like a month later and it was well over half the cost of a universal charger. If time is on your side, well... Then the OEM distributed charger is meant to be. My case, I really need to get something working in a day or three. Happily so, the Insignia™ - Universal 65W Laptop Charger - Black - is a lot of overkill. BUT, some of the extra could become handy! So, the power is one of the extras and it's there to be had when desirable (65W.) My laptop is not so hungry and doesn't use it. If I need to charge while I use the laptop, The battery would easily charge even then. If I use this charger for some power-hungry system, there is 65 Watts. So worst case, the battery would charge while I wasn't using the system? I think so. I didn't need a gender change because the center was natively of correct polarity for my HP laptop. I can't remember. Since I always test polarity... that would have been reason to notice absence of a reverse polarity adapter. A chart to identify which adapter to match my system and other supplied adapters was on a small slip of paper. I am convinced that I will never need about seven of them. Ever. Another extra is that my final batch of teens (both of which have needed to replace a lost charger for EVERY single technology they own HAVE needed a replacement charger as well as eight or sixteen data/charging cables.) I think this is the same Universal Laptop charger I purchased for my youngest daughter. How did I lose a laptop charger? I loaned my original to one of them and you guessed?--must have evaporated and never made it back.

Nice charger that comes with a bunch of different connector tips for probably any kind of laptop. I purchased this 65w charger to replace a factory Dell 45W charger and it's working just fine.

a Godsend if something happens to your original power cord--ONLY drawback is that the little adapters CAN fall off and so you have to be sure you are working in an area where it is easy to find if it DOES drop off and even consider taping or putting some kind of easily findable tag on the one you are using most.

We purchased this initially to replace our laptop charger, but the versatility in the attachments to charge all types of devices is great. Worth the price!
