Worked great with that computer. After returning home have been using it for my home computer using a different adapter. Works great with that computer as well.

Great 2nd Laptop Adapter

I ran over to my local Best Buy and the representative told me right where to find this and it has worked like a charm. Now my daughter no longer needs to sweat remembering just one more thing when she comes home to see Mom and Dad

One thing to note is not to pay too much attention to the brand name associated with the adapter ends. Just use the one that fits. The power supply is auto-switching so it's not a problem.

I did find my original connection piece and used the charger, so it actually did the job it was supposed to I do.

Solved a Long Standing Problem

Doing so meant I would need to keep my fingers crossed as I fiddled to achieve precisely the right point where my old power supply plug would properly seat, show a connection and charge battery. This Insignia power supply had the right adaptor and turns on power every time it is connected to the HP laptop. Problem solved!
