I bought this thinking this product (not brand) but this product has gotten better over years but unfortunately theres still static that comes and goes depending in the area or static remains in the background very low. I still figure it's better than nothing. I'm still able to hear the music I enjoy listening on the road.

Perhaps I have bad unit but the instructions provided to preset the channels to tune the radio don't work. I let it auto-tune and it worked OK but I had to max out the volume on my phone and have the car stereo at 90% to get reasonable sound. Because the gain was so high you get a lot of background noise/hum. Would not buy again.

The sound quality for the transmitter is pretty good. The problem is if there is any kind of signal, no matter how small, going to the FM station you have set you'll hear a little bit of static. I feel if the transmitter was just a little stronger it would have been perfect. If you don't have an AUX port, this transmitter wouldn't be a bad choice.

The hookup to an FM station in order to connect to the radio speaker does not work well. Even on a "quiet" or "unused" station, as per the instructions, the sound includes low static. As per the instructions, I tried other stations, and none are any better. It just does not work well - a real disappointment.

I wanted to love this transmitter but I have found that it only really works....sometimes. I am not sure why, but there are days when it just seems defective and days where it works like a charm. When it works it's great and my calls are clear, music plays nice..

Nice design and works great. No problem finding the frequency in which your music will come out clear. (Normally around 80-88Hz or 106 -107Hz.) First time trying a product. I am extremely pleased with how well it works. This device is more affordable than installing an Aux connector to the back of your old car radio.

I live in a mountainous region of Pennsylvania. Often the radio cuts in and out. I tried satellite radio and had similar issues - there's enough forest to keep cutting the radio out on my daily commute. So I put a bunch of songs on my phone and got this. Now I listen to music the whole time. No interruptions, no commercials.

I bought this because I have had a different type if transmitter for a few years, but the chord wasn't connecting well with my phone. I normally enjoy products made by this company, so I didn't look at any reviews before purchasing. I never use it. There is static no matter what. It's impossible to get a clear connection.

This was the only one I could find at the Best Buy near me. The only way I can play music is my truck is through one of these, that uses radio stations. I’ve had cheaper ones that have worked better than this. All three of the stations have some static. I overpaid for this product for sure.

No matter what channel I set this to the sound is filled with static / interference. 2 weeks later i got 5.00 transmitter from 5 and below that works & sounds 100x better. Not to mention this one has stopped working all together already..... about 3 months old and dead. wate of 50 bucks when a 5 dollar one works better

I bought this because I have an old Honda Pilot with no auxiliary input. It works amazingly well. No static, and the sound quality is very good. I'm really quite pleased, I just need to find a way to mount the transmitter so it isn't wandering around on my console, tangling with my phone charger.

I don't have an aux port in my vehicle so I decided to try the Universal Transmitter, before changing out my factory stereo. The transmitter works ok. Sometimes the sound is still staticy and I have to turn my radio volume up really loud. I will use it for now, but I will probably end up changing out my stereo eventually.

I was able to take this out of the package and use it for about 10 minutes. I stopped my car for an errand. When I got back in, I couldn't get it to work. However, I had the same experience with a similar device later that day, so I am not convinced it was the devices, and not my car. Best Buy took it back with no problem.

This is my third brand/type of converter that I use in my car to stream Pandora from my phone. This is my least productive one. No matter what station I tune my radio to, it has lots of static and has to be in a perfect position (and away from anything else) in order to get even a somewhat ok reception.

Bought this for a cross country trip. Worked great. You do, of course, have to occasionally switch channels but that is easy given the setup. The one change in design I would make is to have the plugin usb be removable because if you only have one outlet you can't charge both phone and use this at the same time.

My husband bought this for me to use on the long trips I make. He even researched which channel was the best one for where I was traveling. The music is constantly interrupted or full of static. I'm constantly moving the device around to get a better connection. It's just too distracting while I'm driving.

I needed a FM transmitter for my 2006 Pontiac so that I could listen to the songs on my smartphone and this one did the trick. It was easy to use out of the box, the sound is great and it was only one cord - I didn't give it 5 stars because when I'm using it I cannot charge my phone which is a "con" for me.

I've had the IQ Sound wireless transmitter for years and the plug finally went out so I bought the wired version. Expecting it to be clear and less problems I experienced just the opposite. There has to be a better version of this type of device.

unfortunately this product did not deliver for me, and i was warned by the sales associate, my vehicle is a 2004 and not equipped, so i tried this but in town (on an FM setting) it just would not bring in good clear sound, just unnerving static, didn't work any better out in the suburbs either :(

My vehicle does not have an auxiliary port nor does it have Bluetooth capability. The Insignia transmitter connect easily and has worked out well allowing me to enjoy my personal music. The one negative is I have not been able to get rid of some static. All in all, I am enjoying it and would recommend.
