Ok, so this is my very first commentary on the interwebs. Picked these up during quarantine, shipped, open boxed like new Item. I have 2 Samsung Home Theaters in a box. One is a 5.1 Wired Rear Speakers 1300 watts from 2007, the other is 5.1 wireless rear 1000 watt from 2015. I had been using the wireless system in the living room and using the wired without the rears in our bedroom for about 7 yrs and decided I wanted to actually use the FULL 2007 system in our living room but wanted some kind of wireless adapter. The ONLY thing close I could find was over 150 bucks and didnt seem worth it for me considering both these systems only set me back a few hundred dollars. Found this item and saw some of the reviews said I could use my own speakers, I figured for 30 bucks, dont have much to lose. My 2007 rears are about 180 watts each, much more power than the reciever or these 10 watt speakers, hooked it up, set it up and it sounds great! It might not be at its max capacity but in my eyes, its better to actually use the rears than not have them at all. The OTHER thing I realized, is since you are moving the rears to the wireless adapter, it leaves the rear ports in the back of my Samsung reciever open, since you arent using them. Sooo I bought some copper wires, hooked them to the back of the 2007 samsung reciever, connected the insignia speakers the kit came with and VOILA! 7.1 surround sound with 4 rear surrounds lmfao Wow. For 30-40 bucks, totally worth it. Just my 5 cents. Be well and stay safe. P.S. wireless rears are under the couch. Dont want my babies playing with them lol

I wanted to use these on there surround speakers and it works! Here's my setup: Yamaha receiver Definite Technology ProCinema 60 5.1 (not fancy at all) I wanted to use this to make my surround speakers wireless. This is one of the cheapest transmitter/receiver you'll find. Just toss the insignia speakers they come with. Use the setup where you connect optical from TV to the Insignia transmitter optical in and then use optical out to go into Yamaha (or other brand) receiver. Connect all the speakers to their respective wires and voila! You have to use the Insignia remote to select "surround" and adjust volume for the rears. You can still use your receiver remote as normal to control volume, mode, etc. Time will tell but so far it's great. Cons so far; - pops every once in awhile (wireless interference?) - system goes on standby which I don't like cause you basically have to use their remote to turn it back on.

I brought two of these on clearance and I have no regrets. After looking at new surround sound systems, I decided to go this route because my existing wired sound systems had good sound and I would save a boat load. Also, I read reviews of new systems that had latency issues. I'm happy I made the decision to keep what I had and add these for wireless surround sound. I added one to my living room that had a wired soundbar and sub, using the surround speakers in the kit. I added the other to my basement which is a 5.1 system, so I used the existing surround speakers. The included speakers are not bad but the existing speakers I had are far better. My only complaint regarding this product is it doesn't always connect the way it should (scrambled sound comes out). I have discovered that the order in which you turn the system on plays a factor. First, turn on the main speakers then turn on the surround. If you experience any trouble with a good connection just unplug the power to the receiver (connected to your surround speakers) anf plug it back in. It has worked like a charm every time.

I bought a LG SJ9 soundbar thinking that it would be able to wirelessly add rear speakers, since you can add multi room etc.. BUT you cannot according to LG at least right now. So I started looking for rear add on speakers and the rocketfish was the one I first looked at but I do not think they have optical or HDMI in or out the Insignia has optical. So decided to go with the Insignia and I have been very pleased. So if you are buying SJ9 or other sound bars and would like rear speakers I would highly recommend these. Do not expect to be blown away but they do add rear channels that sound pretty good. I’m sure you could upgrade the speakers that came with it if needed! Before anyone posts and says it is a Dolby Atmos soundbar and is supposed to simulate the rear speakers so you do not need them! I say bologna, it might not with Atmos content but the SJ9 only has a limited front soundstage for the other 98% of media!!!! Good job Insignia.

This unit is a great idea for those who don't have/want a higher end sound bar that is compatible with wireless rear speaker kits (for example Samsung or LG). They work great but be warned, check to see if you have an optical in AND an out on your sound bar. If you don't you will be stuck like me only having them plugged into the cable box has my sound bar only has an optical in. They work great when I watch cable, but of course they don't work when I use my UHD Blu-ray player or Xbox (all items plugged into my sound bar). Overall they are a great speaker kit.

I just picked this unit up yesterday and hooked it up last night. It took about 5 minutes to unpack and 5 minutes to hook up to the TV. I used an Optical cable that I already had installed on the TV instead of the Optical cable that came with the speakers. I currently have the receiver and speakers set on the floor behind my recliner. I plan on getting a small table back there to put the receiver and speakers on top of. Even with the speakers sitting on the floor I was immediately impressed with the surround sound effect that this system provides. I currently have a Logitech 5.1 computer speaker system set up as my primary audio source (purchased at Best Buy for about $60). I have it connected to the TV with a 3.5 mm cable. The combination of this speaker system and the surround sound speakers in this review is excellent...and the total cost for both units is only about $130. That is $130 for a 7.1 surround sound system. The sound is very immersive with this combination. I spent a good hour on Youtube last night just playing Dolby surround sound videos (THX and Atmos included) and left so impressed that I can't wait to try it again this evening with some 4K Blu Rays that I also grabbed last night as well. Two big thumbs up for this addition to my audio setup. Just to help with clarification, the transmitter is connected to the TV and the receiver is set behind my recliner. The system is wireless in that sense. The two included speakers connect to the receiver via reasonably long wires (I haven't checked the length yet but I would estimate at least 6 feet) so if you were expecting the speakers to be wireless they are not. Only the receiver to transmitter is wireless.

I wanted to add Surround Sound and ATMOS capabilities to my TV with some new rear wireless speakers, but didn't want to shell out the $300 (and up) price tag other brands charge, so when a Best Buy staffer pointed out this Insignia speaker set at just $79.99 I decided to give it a try. I honestly didn't expect much in terms of performance at this price point, especially over a Bluetooth connection, but the sound quality has in fact proved to be excellent, with consistently crisp and clear output whether I'm playing music, TV and movie dialogue, or sophisticated ATMOS effects. The only thing that kept me from making this a 5-star review is that the set-up instructions didn't give me quite enough information to properly connect the bluetooth speakers with my TV, FireTV Cube, and soundbar. Pairing the bluetooth transmitter with the receiver was so frustrating that I almost packed up the system and returned it, but I wound up calling Insignia's customer service, and the rep did a great job of walking me through the process. Once set up, the system is incredibly easy to use and it integrates perfectly with my other sound components. Highly recommended!

Have used about a month now with no problems. The speakers will need wires from the receiver and also 110 v but is wireless to the home base. Easy to wire and set up went good out of box. Speakers sound good for the size more hi level than base but for rear speakers I would buy again.

Hooked them up through my vizio sound bar and they worked after about 10 minutes of playing with both remotes. The sound is pretty decent for the price and they are nice and small. The only real issue I have is that the remote for these speakers are basically line of site required. I am using them for my TCL Roku tv.

I purchased these speakers to add some extra oompf to our bedroom TV setup. They are absolutely perfect for that! One little speaker on each beside table and you can hear every little sound and whisper perfectly. The setup was quick and easy too with our insignia TV. These speakers, plus the sound bar I also purchased, were cheaper than the other sets that are just a bar and woofer. Overall, I am super satisfied and happy.

I hooked this up to my Samsung tv and it took a few tries to get it to work as it should. The speakers aren't that bad and they can get loud. The instructions aren't as thorough as I'd like but you can handle it. Find these while you still can. T

Works great with my Samsung soundbar. Once I configured everything to my liking, all my entertainment sounds immersive. Only thing is that they pop with feedback once in a while but maybe that’s something I’ve done. Very light and easy to hang on walls.

Was looking to get some rear sound and an option to listen to shows without sound coming from TV (have kids and wife who sleep in late or go to bed early). These were easy to install and work great. Sound quality is far better than the old 900mhz speakers I used to use. Yes, you have to have actual speaker wires between the 2 speaker connected to the remote unit, but the wires that come with the system are very long and stretch behind the couch so it is no big deal. Comes with an optical cable (many remote speaker systems do not) so I could set it up out of the box in 5 minutes.

These speakers were exactly what we were looking for, being able to hear our bedroom tv without turning up the volume so loud it would be blaring, and not a bad price. Easy setup. Only issue keeping it from 5 stars is that recently, the signal gets lost between the speakers and we have to turn them off and back on to get to listen to the program again. Very frustrating when you are watching live news or at a good point in a show. Could be better, but not bad.
