I give 4 not 5 only because I've barley used it. It hasn't had enough use to know over time is it still good. But so far so good. It does what it's supposed to with the MacBook Pro and an adapter. Does everything at a normal rate. Not a bad price. I'd buy it again.

I needed a card reader/writer in order to write a Raspberry Pi image to a MicroSD card. My laptop has a slot for an SD card but not one a Micro one. Insignia brand items are a hit or miss for me. This one you definitely can't go wrong with. Found it in the store, bought and used it the same night, and I am one happy user! Yes, using SD cards in the usb adapter requires room on the side of the adapter and it may interfere with other peripherals. But you usually aren't doing work on the SD cards for too long other than transferring images or writing to it. So not a deal breaker for me.

I have two new mini desktops that didn't come with an SD card reader. This is small and unobtrusive and works perfectly. You can't beat the price either!

After the files on my smart phone’s microSD card became corrupted.  I needed a way to access the card on my PC.  Using the   Insignia™ - USB 2.0 SD/MMC Memory Card Reader – Black. I was able to run CHKDSK on the card.  My PC was able to repair the corrupted files, I didn't lose any data!  My PC recognized the card reader as soon as I plugged it in.  I’m very pleased with this product and for the multitude of compatibility I believe it’s fairly priced.  I strongly recommend this card reader.

Camera photos are instantly transferred to my computer! This amazingly easy-to-use invention is a vast improvement from downloading with a cord; all I do is insert my camera memory card, insert the Insignia - USB 2.0 SD/MMC Memory Card Reader in my computer; and follow simple instructions. Comes with an option to erase or keep photos on my camera memory card. Small and convenient for traveling. I'm grateful to the Best Buy clerk who kindly recommended this memory card reader, educating me in how easy it is to use; I'm 70-something and had no idea it existed.

I bought this reader when I was having trouble with the SD slot on my laptop. The reader works great most of the time, but I do have some trouble with the device not being recognized when plugged in. Usually I just need to move it to another USB port and it works. I can't rule out that the problem is with my laptop and not the reader, since I've not had a problem using it on my wife's laptop. Other than that minor inconvenience, I have no complaints and it works well. The price is great too. I'll give the device the benefit of the doubt and rate it 5 stars.

Product is just what I was needing to get photos off my camera's SD card. The only thing I would improve is making the cap connect to the opposite end when in use or be attached somehow. Otherwise easy to use and works great.

I bought a GoPro and for whatever reason, the GoPro only lets you see what's on it when it's fully charged and with the cable it came with. I couldn't use third party cables. Infuriated that I lost the cable for the GoPro, I went to Best Buy wanting to get a mini sd card converter or something. The associate showed me this and it works like a charm. When I put the sd card in it then to my computer, the computer reads it as I connected my GoPro. Highly recommend if you had the same problem as me.

THIS LITTLE COMPACT SD CARD READER IS SMALL ENOUGH TO CARRY IN YOUR POCKET AND WORKS WELL DOWNLOADING ON THE GO. GREAT PRICE TOO.

I was looking for a card reader to use with my electronics that didn't have a built-in card reader in order to transfer files. I did a search on the Best Buy site and found this card reader that seemed perfect, which it turned out to be. It's small, so I can carry it easily anywhere, and you can't beat the price. I just happened to have a $5 coupon toward any purchase at the time I bought it, so it was a real steal. The online reviews really helped me decide. They didn't steer me wrong. It works flawlessly.

I have a Kodak camera and Kodak has stopped supporting their Kodak software and the ability to upload my pictures was no longer available. I really like the camera and did not want to purchase a new one, so I checked on this Memory Card Reader and it work with my laptop (no card reader) and I recently bought a new computer that has a card reader built in, but I can still use it on my laptop which is important to me for both work and school. Good product and works GREAT!

The memory card reader works very well. Easy to use and carry. It cannot sense a 128 GB SD card. It works with 64 GB cards and lower. Might buy a second one. One at home and one on the go.

I bought this because of small size. Can read both SD and MicroSD. only USB 2.0 but enough for my need.

Since I'm only using SD memory cards now, this reader made sense to get. Plus, my old reader didn't recognize my newly purchased 32GB SD micro card with the sleeve. Apparently this is a common issue with the newer faster high capacity memory cards - older readers can't read them. I also liked the convenient size (same as a standard USB flash drive) very portable and with a card inserted could be utilized as a flash drive too. I downloaded about a dozen large files from my PC to the micro card in just a few seconds - I'm attributing this great performance both to the reader and the new 32GB micro card. I gave it 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to verify its durability.

Purchased the Insignia - USB 2.0 SD/MMC Memory Card Reader to transfer the SanDisk Ultra Plus 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 memory that expanded the digital voice storage of SONY ICDUX533BLK DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER which records technical seminars as personal backup for notes taken during presentations. This USB reader works very well in transferring both SD and microSD A/V digital files to our PC's in office and on the road.

I needed to print a photo from my mini SD card from my cell phone and print it out at Kinkos in one of their photo printing machines. I didn't have a mini sd converter on me. The converters at Kinkos cost too much. I ran to Best Buy and found this little device that allows you to convert an MicroSD Card and Mini Sd card into a USB device. Simple to use, got the job done and and for 10.00 to 15.00 a great deal!

Bought a new sd card for my phone. When I tried to use my old reader to transfer pictures to the computer it didn't work. We went back to Best Buy and explained our problem. The sales person smiled and immediately led me to this little gem. EXTREMELY inexpensive and worked flawlessly. Plus it is very small so easy to transport if you need to backup your pix to laptop when traveling. Would buy it again.
