used this on my Surface Book gen 1. Just plugged and it works. No need for the cd. No issues, internet works great.

I know the max bandwidth for USB 2.0 is 480mbps while the average ethernet is gigabit, with that being said this dongle will at best run close to half the max supported speed. But to add a second network adapter or network ports to a laptop it does its job. I recommend this for its price but if you have local NAS devices or gigabit internet go for the USB 3.0 version.

Worked perfectly and was at a good price. Did not need to load any software. I would buy again.

Had an ethernet port go out on a computer but plenty of open usb ports, works great and fixed my problem without having to replace the entire pci board.

not much to say other than it worked as expected. Speed is good, plastic is a little cheap but once plugged in i do not expect to touch it again.

Got this for my laptop that has no Ethernet port and boy does it make a difference! Runs about 4X faster. Definitely a good product

For the price this item does a great job. Very simple to hook up and use. Haven't had any issues with it at all. The price was great.

It does what it was designed to do. Just plug and play into my wife laptop and she had wire connectivity.

The USB nic installed easily using the driver disk. Since then it has performed as an internal nic would. Fast with no hiccups.

worked right away out of the box. no issues on windows 10. drivers were automatically installed.

If a power surge or lightning strike affect your on board built in Ethernet port then this device is for you.Had a client with 100 computers onsite and 5 computers after lightning hit the building lost ability to connect to network. Bought these and after install these older Dell's where back on network at full speed. Best part was that they were in stock at local Best buy rather than waiting 2 days for shipping. 2nd best part is when they retire older equipment part can be moved to new machines with USB 3.0 as backups.

These are the only usb ethernet adapters I use. I lead a team of technicians that work on cameras, access control, security, and other systems for hospitals, executive buildings, and police stations. Reliability is the most important thing. This is the most reliable adapter available, and the price is great.

This product works as intended, however the driver required to use the adapter has to be installed via disc and cannot be downloaded online. If your computer is new enough that it no longer has an ethernet port, it almost certainly won't have an optical drive either. Luckily I have an older iMac with an optical drive and was able to use remote disc to install, otherwise I would have had to return the adapter.

My new laptop did not have a Ethernet port so this was a good option. Clocking in at a crazy fast 230 ish MBS.

The wireless connectivity in my son’s dorm room can be spotty so we got him this adapter for his laptop which does not have an Ethernet port. The dorm rooms offer an Ethernet connection, and this adapter allowed him to have a more reliable connection. He loves it, and it was delivered quickly. If you need an Ethernet adapter, this is a good choice. The Insignia brand is very reliable.

The USB Ethernet adapter did the trick for us. We were experiencing trouble with our wireless internet and could not diagnose the problem using because we had no internet access. Therefore we purchased the USB adapter to connect to our home network via a cable easily. Once we did the diagnostics corrected the problem for us and we were back using our wireless internet again. It has also come in handy when downloading large files. I use it instead of going wireless to speed things up.
