Eventually after some troubleshooting, I was able to get it to write to the Micro SD card, albeit at less than 1 MB/s. The device looks and feels like the kind of junky electronics common two decades ago and tends to get rather hot while in use. Disappointed and will return; perhaps this is just rebadged drop-ship junk?
