I have a bunch of old photos and videos stored on flash memory cards, so it is convenient to have one of these readers available. It’s a simple device to use. Just plug it into a USB Type A port and it’s automatically recognized in my Windows 11 laptop. Once windows installs the reader, it shows up in device manager as a “USB Mass Storage Device” and uses a generic Microsoft Driver. Once recognized, just plug in an SD/Micro SD card into the corresponding slot and the card will appear in File Explorer as a new drive. Double click that drive and you have access to the card. You can read files (open or copy to a local drive) already on the card or write files to that card by copy/paste or drag and drop. As for speed, it’s up to 95 MB/s according to the box it came in. This is a USB 3.2 compliant reader so the connection shouldn’t be an issue. Your speed may vary depending on the quality and speed rating of your card. I tried an older 16gb SD card and got around 48 read and 22 write. I’m sure a newer high-speed card would do better. The reader itself is very lightweight plastic. It actually feels a little flimsy. It has a cap that fits on the end opposite the USB plug for storage when being used. It’s not large but it’s also not tiny. It would have been better if it had a USB C connector or even better, both the USB A and C connectors on the same device. All in all, it’s a relatively inexpensive way to access flash cards on PCs without built in readers but it’s nothing “flashy” <--- pun intended :-)

USB Memory Card Reader

No cords needed, just plug it into you PC or Laptop. Place you memory card in the correct slot and the info or video is there. I use it for the Micro card that is required for my Dash Camera. Highly recommend this product not only for ease of use but also it being inexpensive.

My new desktop did not come with a reader but I still use SD cards in my cameras so I purchased this. It works great and I love that I can store it easily in my desk when not using.
