Have not used it yet but like the idea and will save me time on transfers.

This is a really nice, small, and extremely portable card reader. The USB 3.2 interface is fast and reliable. I use this primarily to transfer files from my cameras to my laptop, and have been impressed with the transfer speeds. My point-and-shoot camera uses full-sized SD cards, while my DSLR uses Micro-SD format. The Insignia reader can handle both at the same time, and the multi-LUN technology allows me to transfer files from both simultaneously. In addition to accepting both SD and Micro-SD cards, the Insignia stick also accepts Compact Flash memory. The included USB-C adapter makes it even more versatile, allowing simple connection to any computer. The unit is extremely portable, solving the hassles cased by dangling cords through a simple stick design. The case appears solidly built, and I appreciated that the protective cover stores on the back of the unit while in use, greatly reducing the risk of losing it. It slips easily into a pocket for travel, and I've made it a part of my standard electronic travel kit. A well-designed, well-constructed product at a reasonable price - this is a great tool to have in your kit.

Honestly it is not the best product, buy the insignia one with usb C. This one does the trick but the write speeds are slow.

After a while, the USB does not connect to device devices and will not read properly. It’s unfortunate because for the price range is decent. But after a while, you’ll get a product that won’t work.

Doesn't work, why don't laptops come with the SD card port built right in, like the once did? So we get to buy another product that doesn't work?

I purchased this online and picked it up in the store. I could not get my computer to recognize it. No big deal. I would reurn it. At no time during the purchase was I aware that Best Buy changed their return policy to within 15 days. Most stores have a 30 return policy. When I tried to return it because I had no idea that I had to return it before 15 days, I was told I had to have bought a warranty to return it beyond the 15 days. Now I have a useless card reader, and Best Buy lost a cutomer. I will never shop at Best Buy, again.

Inserted my SD card and it swiped it clean. I lost all the video that was on it.

The Insignia SD Card and microSD card does exactly what it is supposed to do in a compact easily packable form factor and it does it well. Reading microSD card is quick and is recognized by Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines no problem. The reader makes transferring files from things such as dashcam or action camera to your computer super easy. Everything is plug and play and carrying this around with you for your cameras helps eliminate messy wires to get things off your device. This reader also helps expedite transferring files from your computer to the SD cards for things such as 3D filament printers or 3D resin printers. Overall, this performs the task of reading SD and microSD cards flawlessly and also writes to these cards perfectly. I have seen many readers have compatibilty issues with Windows computers before and this reader is not one of them. Having transferred nearly a few terabytes of data between GoPro cameras, DSLRs, and dashcams, I have not had one single issue with any file transferred. I would not hesitate in keeping a few of these readers around the house and on the go.

It takes forever for my 2022 macbook pro to read also it damaged one of my SD cards since you literally have to apply force to put it in. bought it twice and same issue.

I bought this with the help of a store associate. found out that I needed a flash drive. went to return the item only to discover that Best Buy return policy is 15 days. I feel that’s ridiculous. Wont shop here again for small items.

Not the best broke within a day might’ve been a faulty sad card although I believe it was the adapter

The Insignia Memory Card reader works via a USB-A connection and helps someone like myself that has a laptop without any memory card slots. When I am out taking photos at an event, instead of using multiple cards, I take breaks and photo dump. I do this so I can see if I have to retake pictures and make sure my settings are correct throughout the event for different times of the day and lighting situations. The Reader is much more compact than the old style I was using that had a cable to worry about as well, now, I can just plug the Insignia one in and not worry about the reader falling off my tailgate and getting stepped on plus it takes up a quarter of the space in my case. The reader also works fast and I found I can have both a Micro and Standard SD card in at the same time, it does not confuse the computer like my other one, this makes my life even easier because my GoPro can be downloading while my DSLR photos can be as well. The Card Reader has a read/write speed of 95 mbps and in today's world, that is pretty much a standard speed, so it is not blazing fast nor is it slow, it just works. Nice job on the affordable and easy to use reader Insignia, that is the type of products we need nowadays, cheap but yet mid to upper mid quality at a real price that anyone can afford.

This is truly a great product! I literally have some laptops that don’t have the slot for the mini SD nor SD and this product made it so seamless. Plug n play at your best. No lag, very response. Inserted into my laptop and then inserted the SD cards in. You can not only read from the SD cards but you can also write to them. So you can look at your pics, listen to your music and read your files saved on the reader. Need to save something on the SD cards? Flawless and simple. Also, if you don’t want to scratch up the metal on your SD cards by constantly inserting/ejecting from the slots (in case you do have the slots for both SD/mini-SD), you can carry this device with your SD cards already inserted and always be ready. It’s easier to find your SD cards when they are already attached to the stick. It’s important to note that files were able to be opened and saved, very quickly. The stick looks like any ordinary flash drive upon opening the package. This is a very useful gadget most people would appreciate having. I highly recommmed it.
