Very nice for accessing files on smaller drives for photos and anything else you can fit on drives. The build quality is good and the usb protection sheath is nice

Used with a Mac, this device had awful difficulty reading and writing to a Micro SD card. Eventually after some troubleshooting, I was able to get it to write to the Micro SD card, albeit at less than 1 MB/s. The device looks and feels like the kind of junky electronics common two decades ago and tends to get rather hot while in use. Disappointed and will return; perhaps this is just rebadged drop-ship junk?

I have found product to be very helpful. seems like things are always changing. But this product is easy to use.

Bought this for my dad. His new laptop doesn't have an SD card slot. It does what it's supposed to. No complaints

Worked fine. Did require one of my sad cards to be reformatted and erased so didn’t do that one.

I feel like this product is a little expensive for what it does. I only needed the Micro SD card reader, but the dual functionality may be useful to some. I also wish it was smaller.

This is a really nice, small, and extremely portable card reader. The USB 3.2 interface is fast and reliable. I use this primarily to transfer files from my cameras to my laptop, and have been impressed with the transfer speeds. My point-and-shoot camera uses full-sized SD cards, while my DSLR uses Micro-SD format. The Insignia reader can handle both at the same time, and the multi-LUN technology allows me to transfer files from both simultaneously. In addition to accepting both SD and Micro-SD cards, the Insignia stick also accepts Compact Flash memory. The included USB-C adapter makes it even more versatile, allowing simple connection to any computer. The unit is extremely portable, solving the hassles cased by dangling cords through a simple stick design. The case appears solidly built, and I appreciated that the protective cover stores on the back of the unit while in use, greatly reducing the risk of losing it. It slips easily into a pocket for travel, and I've made it a part of my standard electronic travel kit. A well-designed, well-constructed product at a reasonable price - this is a great tool to have in your kit.

Honestly it is not the best product, buy the insignia one with usb C. This one does the trick but the write speeds are slow.

After a while, the USB does not connect to device devices and will not read properly. It’s unfortunate because for the price range is decent. But after a while, you’ll get a product that won’t work.

I purchased this online and picked it up in the store. I could not get my computer to recognize it. No big deal. I would reurn it. At no time during the purchase was I aware that Best Buy changed their return policy to within 15 days. Most stores have a 30 return policy. When I tried to return it because I had no idea that I had to return it before 15 days, I was told I had to have bought a warranty to return it beyond the 15 days. Now I have a useless card reader, and Best Buy lost a cutomer. I will never shop at Best Buy, again.

Doesn't work, why don't laptops come with the SD card port built right in, like the once did? So we get to buy another product that doesn't work?

The Insignia SD Card and microSD card does exactly what it is supposed to do in a compact easily packable form factor and it does it well. Reading microSD card is quick and is recognized by Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines no problem. The reader makes transferring files from things such as dashcam or action camera to your computer super easy. Everything is plug and play and carrying this around with you for your cameras helps eliminate messy wires to get things off your device. This reader also helps expedite transferring files from your computer to the SD cards for things such as 3D filament printers or 3D resin printers. Overall, this performs the task of reading SD and microSD cards flawlessly and also writes to these cards perfectly. I have seen many readers have compatibilty issues with Windows computers before and this reader is not one of them. Having transferred nearly a few terabytes of data between GoPro cameras, DSLRs, and dashcams, I have not had one single issue with any file transferred. I would not hesitate in keeping a few of these readers around the house and on the go.

It takes forever for my 2022 macbook pro to read also it damaged one of my SD cards since you literally have to apply force to put it in. bought it twice and same issue.
