Laptop is set up for wireless only. There are times when I need a fast speed. This allows that to happen. Nothing to install. Just works

Using a few of these with Windows 10 laptops that don't have built in NICs. We've had no issues. Good price, good performance.

Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Works Well

After installing Gigabit Ethernet Service I found my laptop network interface was only rated at 10/100mbps. Searched Best Buy and found the Insignia Gigabit Adapter that could be installed with a minimum of effort via my laptop USB 3.0 port. The Adapter worked out of the box and I did not have to load new software or drivers which came on a install CD. Now I am getting network speeds up to 600 mbps. The only notable feature to watch is the external usb Gigabit Adapter can run warm to hot at times. The Insignia Adapter was very reasonably priced at about $25.00. Also noted my HP Laptop was running Windows 10. Also purchased CAT 6 network cables which were rated for higher speeds.

USB to Ethernet Adapter

This adapter was a life-saver after signing up for a new internet service that required an ethernet adapter to be run from an old land-line port to my laptop. Unfortunately, my PC doesn't have any phone jack ports, and the install dude didn't even have the equipment to complete the set-up. So, I went to Best Buy and they sold me the USB to Ethernet adapter that was inexpensive, easy to use, and provides an excellent connection. When the big companies fail you, Best Buy bails you!

After bringing home my $1400 laptop I had to turn around and return to the store when I discovered that one penalty of my laptop's "NEW SLIM DESIGN" was the absense of a Wired LAN port. Unfortunately to regain the ability to use my Gigabyte Internet Speed I had to buy this "adapter". It works fine and brings back the speed and security of a wired internet. Be careful with some slightly cheaper versions of this type of adapter. Some run on the older slower USB-2 specfications and don't give you the full possible speeds.

During this covid time where most of us are working from home this little guy saved me. My on board ethernet died on my pc and I needed a quick fix. For a standard video conference it worked well, but under load where I am presenting and sharing my screen where video is playing, things start to lag at times. This didn't happen before needing to use this adapter, but has for sure been functional! I will be using this when I travel with my surface pro to take advantage of wired connections over wifi when available!

I came into your store to get a USB ethernet adaptor so I could have a wired connection between my new Samsung laptop and the router at my home. The rep I spoke with once I explained the situation and fact that I had tried a different one and it hadn't worked. Checked some things on either his phone or small tablet and within about 5 or 10 minutes had a solution for me to try. When I got it home and tested it it worked perfectly.

I've used this little dongle on both Windows 10 and OSX. Works great on both without any drivers needing to be installed. Seems reasonably fast, faster then 802.11N wifi anyway for local file transfers. Only downside is that it is warm when it's being used. Even when connected to a powered USB hub when there is no computer connected to the hub, it's lights go out but it still stays warm. Doesn't seem to have any kind of sleep mode.

Does exactly what is says it does. Did not even need to mess with drivers for my mac. Plugged it in and it worked. I used it to transfer files from a PC to my MacBook Pro.
