Reliable connector made for a reliable connection

My company switched computers and the new laptops didn't have any built-in ethernet connections. This was inexpensive and worked perfectly to hook up the laptop to the internet. This connection was much more reliable than a wireless connection.

Reliable LAN Connectivity for Trade Show

I purchased six of these USB to LAN adapters for use as trade show equipment, since WiFi connectivity at such shows is typically lousy due to congestion. I chose this specific product based on previous use of the product for a home lab of networked PCs and videoconferencing units. The product works as expected -- no complaints!

For restoration from TimeMachine on wireless NAS

Newer MacBooks don’t have Ethernet ports and the most recent don’t have USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports. Restoring a MacBook Pro from a wireless NAS is very slow and unreliable. I used this with a USB-C adapter to hardwire to a Synology NAS. The restore from TimeMachine backup was painless.

I needed another wired Ethernet port on my desktop and didn't have the time to wait for one to ship out. Unfortunately those are about near impossible to find in store. Figured I'd give this a shot. It works great for its intended purpose. I didn't bother checking transfer speeds, as it'll cap out my ISP pretty much immediately anyway.

Necessity for these new, sleek notebooks

Newer, lightweight, sleek notebook computers are not equipped with RJ-45 ports for Ethernet connection. In environments where wireless connectivity just isn't satisfactory, it is still sometimes preferable to use a hard-wired connection. This little gem makes it possible! USB 3.0 allows for speeds to 1GB and beyond!

I have a NetGear wireless booster, and on occasion, it goes down and needs a full reset (usually due to a major power outage). The reset requires that I connect a computer directly with the booster device. Our newer computers don't have the Ethernet ports, only USB, so I needed this adapter to connect. Does the job just fine.

I am using this adapter in a Waves Audio setup where a gigabit network connection is a must. So far it has worked flawlessly on that network. It does get a little bit warm with the constant data flow which is 64 bi-directional channels of 24 bit, 48 kHz digital audio. I am very pleased with its performance.

The Insignia - USB 3.0-to-Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - White - is a good adapter, unfortunately my Asus tablet did not have the capability to use the ethernet adapter. Worked on several different options and could not get it to work. However, I feel that if I had the right type of tablet this would have worked.

when the Ethernet port on my motherboard decided (out of nowhere) that it would no longer work, this adapter got me back online without any issues, no jumping through hoops to install software, no rebooting the computer a dozen times, just plugged it in, plugged the Ethernet cable in and poof, on the net again

For a long-distance job interview over Skype, my son needed a more reliable connection than one gets with wireless. He just plugged this in and the drivers downloaded. Then he plugged in the ethernet cable and was online. Worked great! A must-have when your wireless-only laptop needs a more solid connection.

Hard to review something as basic as a USB to Ethernet adapter. How exciting can it possibly be. What I can say, is the adapter did what I expected, and worked fine. Since the computer I use does not have an Ethernet port on the computer itself (It does on the docking station), I needed this piece of equipment when using the computer on the road.
