I notice my other secondary 4k monitor is a little smoother or same as the primary one after using this. This is used with a thunderbolt 4 dock for my MacBook Pro.

I used this for a Laptop that uses Displayport over USB-C for a second monitor. It works perfectly to output at the resolution I need. That output is 3440x1440 at 165hz

Laptop has display port 1.4 capability from a USB-c port. Make sure your laptop supports this before buying.

I am dyslexic and I had bought the wrong part I needed on amazon 2 times. Mixing up the male female adaptor going into witch place....needless to say I confused myself horribly. So I went in person to the store to hopefully avoid any more wasted money. The sales person was patient with me as I triple checked to be sure this was the part I needed with the male-female going where it needed to go. It worked! I was able to take my laptop w/ the VR headset to my father who is paralyzed on his left side due to a stroke and play Star Trek bridge crew. He had a blast. I want to thank the sales guy for the help!

Some said this wouldn't work on laptop but it works on mine. Mine is the Asus Zephyrus g14 and I've had no issues with it. Works great!

Most Macs now only have the USB-C port, so this will turn it into an HDMI port so you can connect to a monitor.
