I needed an External Hard Drive to use with my new iMac and 2014 MacBook Air. I purchased the My Passport 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive, and the Insignia USB C to HDMI Multiport Adapter allows me to connect to both Macs. Thanks Best Buy!

I can plug my flash drive in to watch movies on my iPad, plug it into the wall to charge, and plug the hdmi into my projector all simultaneously. Works the same as the Apple branded adapter. Btw, the USBC port is solely for 100w PD pass through, so you can’t use data on there, just the USB A 3.1 port.

I didn’t realize that they now come with limited ports. Found this to be an excellent option them, this has three ports for USB-C, USB, and HDMI.
