If you talk to computer technicians, they will often tell you that USB to VGA adapters do not work. They will say that they place too much stress on your graphics card, etc. But I'm very happy to say that the Insignia adapter really works beautifully. From the minute I plugged it in to my old laptop, my big flat screen monitor lit up and it's been perfect ever since. I couldn't be happier.

It’s been an expensive covid 19 for the electronics in my house hold this little Device saved me from going out and buying a hole new lap top.. if only the cracked iPad screen was as easy of a fix!

I have expanded my computer up to 4 monitors. Takes a little tweaking to configure all four, and it works.

I was hooking up a second monitor to my home computer. There was an HDMI port on the back of the computer, so I thought it would be easy. Hah! After failure and subsequent research, I discovered that this was only an HDMI port in. Why would you do that, HP? Anyway, got this adapter, hooked it up to a USB port on the computer, ran a VGA cable to the second monitor, installed the appropriate driver, and it worked great. Not exactly plug-and-play, but close enough.

This device will send video from USB port to a VGA device over a VGA cable. You must provide the VGA cable. You will need an unused USB port on your laptop or PC. On a Windows 10 HP laptop (a few years old) with an available unused USB port, this worked great. 1. insert USB cable from this adapter into USB port of laptop / PC. 2. install VGA cable to monitor. 3. install other end of VGA cable to this Adapter. 4. power up your VGA Monitor. 5. power up your laptop / PC. 6.make connection to the internet. 7. go to best buy website 8. I found for WINDOWS, the easiest way to get the drivers is to go to the BEST BUY webpage for this product and click on link for drivers. You will get an EXE file you can run which will communicate with adapter's company to get and install the drivers. 9. The most difficult part is dealing with WINDOWS to setup the old VGA monitor as a secondary display. The adapter comes with instructions on how to setup an EXTENDED display - that is [image1 primary ] plus [image2 extended] . Mine has been working well for 2 weeks.

This adaptor is fantastic and compact. It works well with my device and the cost was reasonable.

I needed an adapter that would work with my USB port so I could use a second monitor because my display port was malfunctioning. This adapter does require downloading drivers in order to use it so be sure to read the directions. Downloading the drivers was easy and after that it functioned perfectly and I have had no problems.

I purchased 2 of these one from amazon about 13.00 and this one the one from amazon need to download software, do not want to do that, however this insignia just plug and play. works very well with my Acer monitor.

I bought this adapter that connected my flat-screen monitor to my laptop that could only take the USB cord. Now, I have dual screens and can shift through files easier than I did before. There were no problems connecting the adapter to my laptop or the flat-screen monitor.

Bought two. Hooked them to an HP Docking station for my work laptop. These along with an HDMI connection gave me the 3 monitor configuration I needed. Worth every penny!
