So RJ45 connectors have a little tab thing that is meant to click in and lock them to the jack that you are plugging them into. And then you release the lock by squeezing the tab. But this Insignia adapter is not designed for the tab on the RJ45 plug to click securely in place. So the plug easily slides in and out, and it can become completely dislodged very easily, for instance if you accidentally bump the ethernet cable. Besides this design flaw, the adapter works well, getting 1000 Mbps receive/transmit according to the network status.

This thing works great as long as your not useing gigabit but i see how usb c is the best connection my ethernet port got burned out by a poe device this was a good replacement

I have att 1gb download and upload speeds. I am able to get those speeds using this adapter! I definitely recommend because I don’t have to install any software or drivers. It’s plug and play which is very convenient!

Insignia is an underrated brand. This works well amidst a slew of many cheap adapters.

This is excellent to connect my ground ethernet to my computer.

New laptop had 2 usb C and no Ethernet because it was ultra portable model but with dis dongle you can connect Rj45 for wired connection. Mulch faster speed and it plug and play.

The Lan port on my gaming laptop was hard to disconnect the cable. The adapter was the solution. I've not seen any loss of internet speed from using the Lan port and the adapter.

I haven't had to use this on my MacBook very often, but whenever I do, it does work pretty well. I heard some people complaining about overheating issues, but I haven't had any issues with mine.

Can't go wrong for the price. I use it with my Mac Book Pro, so I can be hardwired to my Internet and run so much faster. Works perfect.

I bought this so I could get a wired connection during a Skype session. It more than handled the need. Lightweight and small, it's a great addition if you need to be hardwired for a faster internet connection.

I bought this as a MAC adapter, so I had to use two adapters in series to connect with USB-C. Worked "OK", but speed tests were slow. I returned it and purchased a Microsoft - Surface USB-C to Ethernet and USB Adapter - Black, which worked well, gave me a USB port as well, and produced a MUCH better speed.

This adapter works great. It is easy to connect to your laptop or computer and plug in the accessory that you need to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

First I'm giving this adapter 3 stars NOT because it doesn't function as expected or for a bad store or purchase experience but overall for having to keep more cables and adapters because I needed it during a cusp changing of hardware and accessibility. If you need to get connected and for some reason WIFI is not optimal or existent or if your node no longer is built with an onboard ethernet adapter. then this is what you need. I've used it constantly (pulling it in and out) bending it in weird ways because of the length of cable or location, etc. It works fine. It's good to have. In 3 yrs or less it will just be another past adapter that I needed. But if you need one...This one is perfect!!!

I use this for downloading data from a racecar. Plug and play and easy to store.

I use this with my MacBook Pro. It couldn't be more simple, just plug it in, and it works. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Seems to be great quality and as good as Apple.

The Insignia adapter was very easy to plug into my laptop and did not break the bank to purchase. Kept me from having to use wifi only to connect to the internet.

This adapter works as advertised. This works great for laptops with a USb type C without an ethernet port. It also works great for android phones as well.

I bought this as a spare to keep in my backpack. When I tested it, I needed to install the drivers a couple of times, but once I did that, it works great. In fact, it works much better than the OEM one that came with the laptop!
