Despite this the monitor still had issues staying solid and the display had "waves" in it, for lack of a better term. The cheap, 3rd party one I got off Amazon works way better.

Her PC laptop is a refurbished laptop that only has a VGA out port. So, I had to buy this adaptor to make it work with the HDMI TV (that has no VGA input). This did the job beautifully. A good device to bridge the two video eras: VGA and HDMI. (Keep in mind this goes VGA to HDMI, not the other way around).
