Her PC laptop is a refurbished laptop that only has a VGA out port. So, I had to buy this adaptor to make it work with the HDMI TV (that has no VGA input). This did the job beautifully. A good device to bridge the two video eras: VGA and HDMI. (Keep in mind this goes VGA to HDMI, not the other way around).

Not for a three monitor setup

Today's standard is three monitors minimum. My third would not connect without power. It is good for a dual setup. Had to return it.

Didn't work - not sure why

I plugged it in to the correct ports, but nothing showed up on the display. I don't know for certain if this was a defect of the product or not. I ended up returning this for a different adapter (display port to HDMI) and it worked....
