I had to clean up an old windows XP PC for a client and needed this to work with my 4k monitor. Works fine and got the job done.

I wasn't able to use the item only due to the fact the monitor I bought (not from Best Buy) isn't working. This item works fine. I am keeping it, because I know I will still be able to use it.

This item works amazing. I had a 5 year old Lenovo laptop that worked fine with my old TV when I would run a long HDMI to HDMI wire so I could watch shows from my laptop. But my new Insignia would not recognize it. I read that one solution was to use the VGA port (look it up) to hook it up to the TV. Problem is, VGA only has video and no audio (which I didn't really pay attention to when I bought the cord). And I got home and thought the USB part was just an extra piece. I hooked in the VGA, and then my old HDMI cable (6 feet or more of HDMI cable to reach the TV), the picture came on! But no sound :(. Then I remembered about the VGA having no sound, so then I was like, "Hmmm, just maybe..." and plugged the USB in too, and voila, Let There be Sound! Very ingenious design to get sound and video with one gadget. I am really glad too, because I bought the TV and didn't take it out of the box for months and I couldn't return it. I had got used to just using my laptop to watch stuff in my room.

Specialty device for a special situation. When you need something like this and it is all that is available, it works. Not an Insignia fan at all, but it got the job done for us.

Works as described. Before I used this, I had to be connected to the internet for it to download some drivers.

It worked fine but unfortunately my computer didn't recognize my really old monitor.

I bought this on accident thinking it would work from my new PC to my old monitor, but it turns out it only works the other way around so I had to buy a new one. I wish it was more clearly explained on the box, but i’m sure it works fine for the purposes it actually serves.

Easy to use, and it worked as intended. Simply take it out of package and plug and play.

A great product. I have old windows laptop that was just sitting there, so I bought this to connect it to monitor so that I could use it for other purposes. Laptop to monitor, works great.

It did exactly what I needed it to do. I needed to connect an older desktop CPU (didn't have a HDMI output) to a 39" TV that needed to be connected by a HDMI input.

Works exactly as I needed it to. Needed to hook a second external monitor to my work computer and this works with my 4K (though at 1080). No errors or dropouts. Just wish they had the black version when I bought it but that’s minor.

I used this adapter to connect a old school KVM to a monitor without VGA. Worked perfect!!!

Great product for the price. I can tell it is cheaply made but it will hold up for the duration i am using it for.
