    I purchased this speaker with skepticism, but I have to confess that I have been pleasantly surprised by its capabilities and a decent sound quality. It is no Apple HomePod when it comes to sound quality, but then again, it is no where close to the HomePod price either. The Google Home app has quite a few issues... I faced issues with hooking up my existing Wemo devices to it; the Google Home app would not show me the "continue" button! After some research, I clicked in the white space where the button should have existed, and VIOLA! A week later, I was able to add an additional Wemo device as well, but with some more research. The new device did not show up on the Google Home App, but saying "Hey Google, sync my devices" did the trick. The Google Home App has bugs and needs improvement, but you only need it for setup, and it is not Insignia's fault. So I did not deduct any starts.

    I like it mostly except the fact it doesn't support other apps like audible. I had to buy Alexa because my son loves to read and listen to books and it doesn't support audible

    Hard to set up, almost impossible to set up two or more using the same phone and app, had to set up the second one using another phone. Amazon Echo is much better.

    With the dimmable clock this is a perfect bedside accessory. Multifunction with streaming from certain apps, the only flaw being that it will not stream my preferred service, Amazon Prime. If it did that it would be a 5 star product.

    bought this as a first item in smart home products. very disappointed with set up and final result. after downloading app to phones, and started setup nothing worked correctly. returned product to store

    This alarm clock worked for about a total of 10 minutes then it never would reconnect through the app. After repeating everything I had already done through trouble shooting with Insignia customer service it still wouldn't connect . That's another thing I didn't like about this junk, everything you do is through an app on your phone. Returned this pos and got an echo dot.

    I thought about getting a "smart speaker" for some time, didn't want to plop down $100 for it, so this to me was a good option at the time. Boy am I wrong. It was good for it's time but now with recent updates it barely shows up on my google home app. Do yourself a favor and just get a google home speaker along with anything the overlords at google put out.

    Good little speaker but the firmware is so far behind in updates many google home features do not work. Get the voice feedback response of "Sorry, I can't do that yet" when doing basic voice commands. There is no way to force update the firmware on the device or from the Home app. Best Buy said they are aware but have yet to correct the issue.

    I bought two of these and they are absolute garbage. The sound is lacking, and the voice assistant doesn't do much assisting. However, my biggest issue is that these lose connection constantly and then it is nearly impossible to get them functioning again. They will randomly display "net" on them, then I have to do a factory reset, completely delete them from the google home app, and start over from scratch. I just wish I could still return them.

    These are nice for the price but just don't have the same features as the Google devices. Needs to be updated to keep up with Google devices. I do like the clock but it isn't really needed. I wish the temperature could stay on the display all the time. No option to restart it from Google Home APP.

    this device has several things that determines its practical and usefulness as intended out of the box. I like this unit and would give it 4-5 stars but considering I had to return 2 because of a known flaw with Google assistant app firmware this unit malfunctions of several services including setting a basic alarm and will not ever set a time you command google assistant instead will respond with a "glitch" response. also displaying temperature and volume will not function correctly. Its a bummer is this unit cannot be updated remotely to fix remedy the issues it must be returned for a replacement and now you invest time and money into something Best Buy should pull from the shelves until they solve the software conflict again this is a know issue with insignia engineers and Google and that is enough to warn buyers there is malfunctions but since its the holiday sales they haven't removed the item. No known updates are available so its a crap shoot if you get a working unit. I was told to return the item from tech support not much help.

    Purchased two of these now for a great deal. At $24.99 when they go sale, they are steal and it does everything that google home does. But the plus is having the clock and the usb charger for external devices. The speaker is amazingly good for what it's - loud and crisp. No it's not Bose quality but it's still very good. The only gripe I have is that it takes a couple of times to get the device set up via the Google Home app. Twice now I had some difficulty where it says device could not be set up. But second time it works without any problem. If this goes on sale again, I will be getting a couple more.

    Don't waste your money

    First off, couldn't wait to use this speaker. Google assistant built in a plus. But I was very disappointed. It wouldn't connect to google home at all. I tried multiple times using two different note 8 and it will say connecting and never connect through wi-fi. It did connect through Bluetooth but through the google home app it wouldn't work. So to say the least it's just another Bluetooth speaker. Sound quality not the best. Compact, digital screen, otherwise sadly not a contender with just Bluetooth capability. Would have loved to test out the google assistant.

    Dead after 2 weeks.

    NS-CSPGASP SKU: 5865801 I bought 2 speakers when they was on sale. I really tried to like Insignia product but this will be the last time. The speaker worked well for 2 weeks then one day one of the unit keep saying "there's glitch, please try again later" , At 1st I thought it was Google server but when I test on other Google home products in the house and they're working fine and there's nothing with my Wifi. I reset the device a few times & even delete my Google home app and reinstall it in an attempt to reconnect the device then another error pops up in my app "unable to connect to the cloud". This is when I begin to suspect that there's something wrong with the device wifi antennae that prevented it from connect to the wifi. I ended up returned the device at a local Best Buy. My other experience with Insignia product wasn't good either. I also bought 2 Insignia digital radio clocks and they too died after a year when the light on the digital number failed to glow and the other just died. Over all, I am very disappointed with Insignia products. Insignia is more than welcome to contact me for further info on the products. I should just spend a little more in the beginning to get a "name brand" device and save on future problems & extra spending. PN

    I have spent an extensive amount of time testing this product, and my overall impression of this device is not very favorable. The device does not integrate well with my IPhone. I find this speaker very contradictory. It cannot make calls, read text messages, or send texts. It does connect to my phone as it is able to put calendar events on my iPhone. But that's about all it does with my phone. It cannot find my iPhone. My assistant informed me that she can only connect to Androids to use the find my phone feature for now. Perhaps an upcoming firmware update in the future will fix this? I just find the utility lacking. If I ask my assistant to find me directions to the nearest coffee shop, it tells me them. But this cannot be sent to my iPhone. So what is the use? Also, it often has issues verifying my voice requiring me to repeat my commands. It also thinks my wifes voice is mine, and we have very different voices. It frequently misses 'Hey Google' commands even when the room is silent. The Google Home app that goes along with this is painfully slow and times out very often on my iPhone 6s running iOS 11. I will say that I really enjoy the good morning feature is awesome. Asking for the weather is cool, playing music is cool. But these are fun features that do not really improve my life or workflow. Maybe I should have had different expectations for this device. Hoping some firmware updates make this device more usable and integratabtle into my everyday life
